Oh gosh, I'll have to get you to post some foosball tips someday, because I certainly suck at that game!

Well, even when I get around the guys who are so good at ping-pong, I feel pretty inadequate, but I'm slowly learning from my friend. Although I'm getting the feeling he only agrees to play me so he can practice his spin and slice moves, as I foolishly swipe at the ball.

Did somebody mention foosball? In case nobody ever reads my profile, I've always been a "Rockem Sockem Robot Champ and part time Foosballer." Or, as they call me on the streets "Foosbrawler".

Yeah.

I have a foosball table in the garage and regularly beat the kids and all their friends in the neighborhood with just my left hand. It's so much fun! They always want to challenge me. I love going from "some old guy" (old in their eyes ) to "Hey, that guy will kick your ass in foosball!"

Now do you Beat the kids WITH the foosball table? or are those two separate statements?

Its been crazy, for sure, TIS.

This whole wild fire business is new to me, having only been a Califorinicator since February. I looked out my bedroom window at about 2 p.m. yesterday and saw the giant plumes of smoke billowing from the mountains. It was surreal watching the news, and seeing the devastation unfold with my own eyes all at the same time.

The Brea fire is closest to me, but the Anaheim one is a little close for comfort, too. The smell of smoke is almost unbearable. It looks like we're getting snow flurries with the bits of ash falling. Here's hoping the Santa Anas don't blow any fire embers my way.

Thank God you and yours are ok, TIS. We're good on my end, too.

I've really become an eccentric night owl in college, so I'll end up playing at all odd hours of the night. If I can't find a ping-pong partner, I play pool alone to at least get some practice...of course, then when I actually play someone, it never pays off. Oh, but you're right, Forrest Gump could definitely show me some pointers, huh? haha

Not much snow so far, but the roads are icy as hell. Got stuck behind a jacknifed Semi for awhile and saw another semi that had hit the median on the other side of the road taking my wife's friend home from work.

Man, try and get a job when you're an Ex Felon who's been in Prison. Hard enough getting a Job in my country when you're on the straight and narrow your whole life.

For me, I fill out an application then when it get to the part of "Have you ever been convicted of an offense blah etc" I know I have no chance. "They" say they send Humans to cages to "Rehabilitate" them, But when they've "Paid their Debt" to society and have been "Rehabilitated" (In whatever sense they think it means) it ain't good enough.
No wonder the prison system is a "Revolving door". What other choice to some people have?

LN, It's really hard right now. I've been offered two jobs, only to have the economy screw with their businesses so badly that they had to rescind the offers. I also had a deal fall through yesterday after 4 months of negotiations. The client's accountant told him to hold off on expansion for at least a year. I couldn't even disagree with him.

This economy is going to screw with us for a long time to come. In the meantime, SC is right. It's a matter of percentages. The more you look, the more applications you fill out, the closer you will be.

The MTA (Metropolitan Transit Authority) just layed off 1,500 city workers here in New York. Things are certainly tough all over, but you really have to keep your chin up and just keep punching, LN.
