Here in the UK we have an Irish chap called Graham Norton who has his own half hour chat show thing on the TV. Last night he had Robin Williams as his special guest. Williams just took over the show,he never shut up from start to finish. It was like watching him do half an hour of stand up.
I have not laughed so much in years. The tears were rolling down my face.

He's pretty damn funny sometimes! We get The Graham Norton Show which airs on BBC America on Saturday nights (it's 60 minutes, so maybe a different show?). I don't see Robin Williams in the schedule, but I'll keep an eye out. Dustin Hoffman is coming up, though - that should be good. I love seeing serious actors up against his raunchy humor!
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol

One of my colleagues at school is Tomas Haden Church's father.
No kidding?
I saw one of those E-True Hollywood deals about him a while back, so I knew he was from west Texas. Wasn't his father military? I thought they mentioned something about his being an "army brat."
I liked him in Broken Trail with Robert Duvall.

So I went into my local Blockbuster today to possibly grab O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU (I've never seen it). Yeah, they don't carry it. How do they not carry it?

No, they usually carry the classics as well. But I was surprised because O BROTHER isn't that old of a movie and basically EVERY video story I've gone in has it. And if they don't have a movie, they don't order it.

That WAS hilarious. Maybe they snubbed him because they wanted to keep him away from the buffet table. Have you seen Shatner lately? If they remake the Godfather he could be Clemenza.

Anyone who's interested in horror flicks see "Twilight", the vampire movie? I was thinking about seeing it, but don't know too much about it.

Is anyone going to watch the "24" movie, "Redemption" tonight at 8:00?? I still haven't seen the last season of 24, but my friend insists that this move is separate from the series, so I am anxious to see it.

Martin Scorsese had a cameo in the season finale of "Entourage" tonight. He's going to direct the show's main character's next movie. It's The Great Gatsby set in modern day NYC.

With the success of the movie, Twilight, I am so much hoping that they bring back the short lived tv Vampire show, Moonlight. It was so good and they never gave it a chance. Checking on line, there is an almost cult-like following. There aren't too many shows, that are cancelled that disappoint me. This one did.
I read too, since Twilight, that the HBO series True Blood (which I only saw once and didn't care for), has seen an increase in viewers. So, I say, never say never. This could be the year of the vampire.
This is the promo before the show debuted. (testing my youtube posting skills)

Ha ha...wow, it does sound funny that someone didn't hear of the movie. Then again,I'll bet if I mentioned it to my daughters, they might not know of it.
I think I will see the movie. I'm guessing this kind of Sci-Fi movie, with a technology update might be pretty good, as long as they don't overdo it. Know what I mean?

Remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still - December 12.
I'll tell you what's sad.
Someone I know was telling me that he wanted to see that, and I told him I had some worries that it would be another lousy (idiotic) remake.
He looks at me and says, "This is a remake?"
Maybe I was naive, but I thought most people knew of the original THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, if not necessarily seen it.
Now Keanu Reeves is their introduction.
You think that's something?. My sister was 12 when TDTESS came out. I told her the remake was coming out soon. She claimed ignorance of the original. Now, Virg is really big-time Catholic. She's almost Opus Dei. So, in reply, she says "Is that the movie about Fatima when the sun stood still in the sky?" Madonne!

The big difference is that if the original was about the fear that many had about the proliferation of atomic bombs (the reason behind the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) signed in the 1960s), and thus spread atomic war to the stars...
How can EARTH work in a 2008 geo-political context? I had heard reports it will have to do something with ecology or environment or whatever, and I just don't know.
He - (Simón Bolívar) - was shaken by the overwhelming revelation that the headlong race between his misfortunes and his dreams was at that moment reaching the finishing line. The rest was darkness. "Damn it," He sighed. "How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!"
So what’s the labyrinth?
That’s the mystery isn’t it? Is the labyrinth living or dying? Which is he trying to escape - the world, or, the end of it?
I watched "most" of Armageddon which showed on one of the cable stations. I had never seen it, but I like Bruce Willis, and have always wanted to see the movie.
I unfortunately fell asleep sometime in the last 45 mins/hour of the film (it was 3 hours). My question is, where the hell was Bruce Willis? They gave him and Billy Bob Thorton top billing, and I saw neither..unless they were one of the strange looking "creatures".
All considered, and from what I saw, I was disappointed in it, but not exactly sure as to why. I normally enjoy these kinds of movies, but it was too......cartoonish maybe???? I don't know, but I more than likely will not watch it a second time. I am not even curious as to how it ends.

We have a TV journo type called Louis Theroux who does a lot of shows about the US. Last night he was riding with the cops in the 24th district of North Philadelphia.
Wow
Scary stuff. It was almost like watching an episode of the Wire at times, what with the corner boys and such. Mr. Theroux was obviously shocked at the scale of violence he witnessed.

How'd you miss them? They were in it, especially Willis, throughout. In fact, the first hour or so of the movie had Willis going after Affleck over his relationship with Liv Tyler and it was Thorton who recruited Willis and his team.
However, I too was disppointed in it. It's an ok movie, but nothing more. Also, I think it was too long and I thought the Tampon reference in the scene I referenced above was totally unnecessary. I liked Bucemi though.

I'm sure I'm the only person excited about this news
Zombie Halloween 2?
If Rob Zombie's overexplained white-trash variation of John Carpenter's slasher classic HALLOWEEN wasn't enough for you, it sounds like you might be getting a second dose.
A sequel to the lucrative revamp has been in the works (initially as a direct-to-DVD project), and word was that Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, directors of the deeply disturbing French domestic terror film INSIDE, would be handling the continued exploits of massacre man Michael Myers.
But now they've apparently departed the Myers household... and according to STYD, Rob Zombie is slipping back in the side door to direct a theatrical follow-up, scheduled to film in March. Tyler Mane is reportedly wearing the mask again, but everything else (the script, the status of Zombie's violent wrestler/biker tale TYRANNOSAURUS REX) seems to be a question mark. More as we hear it.
