I think it is designed not to unroll accidentally when stored vertically, as opposed to its normal horizontal position while in the holder during use.

Yea, I hate when that happens. Speaking of toilet paper (since no topic is to petty for our BB) I hate the cheap shit that is so thin you can blow a hole thru it and it peels off the roll. I forgot the partiular brand names. I'm not real picky with TP, but I do have my ground rules. I'll usually go to a medium price.
