He - (Simón Bolívar) - was shaken by the overwhelming revelation that the headlong race between his misfortunes and his dreams was at that moment reaching the finishing line. The rest was darkness. "Damn it," He sighed. "How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!"

So what’s the labyrinth?

That’s the mystery isn’t it? Is the labyrinth living or dying? Which is he trying to escape - the world, or, the end of it?

For me Christmas is always one of the most boring days of the year. Everything is closed, Nothing on T.V and my Mother, Brother and I just sit around attempting to have conversations with substance.

"CHRISTMAS" and "Whoring" don't go well together, so it is my moral obligation to boycott this thread. uhwhat Happy Whoring!

clap A Festivus for the rest of us.

It's a lot of work, putting the lights on the house, getting the tree and all the decorating. But it means a lot to the kids, especially my daughter, who was up late last night decorating the tree with me.

I'm taking a break from Whoring Christmas as we speak. I'm getting scratches on my arms from putting lights in the front yard plants, it's freezing, and I had a rather scary experience with a spider that had a body the size of a quarter. I couldn't see it's legs in the dark but I'm sure they were large and hairy.

It ends too quickly for me. The end just feels rushed.

LMFAO!!!!

I actually entered this thread wondering if MC had posted his annual "Let's remember the real significance of Christmas" rant, and I've not been let down.

Come on, MC, don't be a scrooge.

Seriously, though, I'm really looking forward to Christmas break. I have a dissertation to complete on The Sopranos, and I have to read Ulysses, and compose the soundtrack to a short film I've shot, but it's going to be very merry indeed.

I don't want to change the direction of the thread, but I would be very interested in your thoughts of Ulysses once you've read it.

I never did understanding that term "Whoring" when applied to topics on the board. I just can't connect with it no matter what the topic.

as a verb, the dictionary defines the following: whored, whor·ing, whores

1. To associate or have sexual relations with prostitutes or a prostitute.
2. To accept payment in exchange for sexual relations.
3. To compromise one's principles for personal gain.

MICK! You're back! I'm glad you weren't "serious"(ly) about the Christmas "rant". I don't recall any rants myself. I've only ranted about the price of gasoline (greedy bastards). I may have commented on the use of "Xmas" in place of Christmas. Lazy people who take short cuts and abbreviations. As far as being "scrooge" (used inappropriately, I think), sorry, I can't help it. A few years ago I was fortunate to play Scoorge in the musical "Scrooge". One of my favorite songs from that show it aptly titled, "I Hate People".
