I have to go to a stupid meeting at school tonight and I'm going to miss Criminal Minds again. Of course, it's not as good without Mandy Patinkin. Joe Mantegna's doing a great job, though.

I really like Joe Mantegna, but after Princess Bride, I will always prefer Mandy Patinkin. Me too because Mandy came and he gave without taking. By the way, whoever sees the remake of TDTESS, please post your comments about it.

I'm going to try to see it this weekend, Olivant. I love the original. It was one of the first sci-fi films with subliminal, Biblical overtones. Klaatu drew comparisons to a Christ like character waaaaay before Luke Skywalker.

Actor Van Johnson, '40s heartthrob, dies at 92 Dec. 12, 2008, 2:41 PM EST NEW YORK (AP) -- Van Johnson, whose boy-next-door wholesomeness made him a popular Hollywood star in the '40s and '50s with such films as "30 Seconds over Tokyo," "A Guy Named Joe" and "The Caine Mutiny," died Friday of natural causes. He was 92.
Johnson died at Tappan Zee Manor, an assistant living center in Nyack, N.Y., said Wendy Bleisweiss, a close friend.
With his tall, athletic build, handsome, freckled face and sunny personality, the red-haired Johnson starred opposite Esther Williams, June Allyson, Elizabeth Taylor and others during his two decades under contract to MGM.

No doubt the very best way to see a film: By yourself in a half empty movie theatre. Living in the City, it's almost impossible, so I often drive up to Westchchester, during the week, midday, when I really want to see a certain movie.

My wife likes to go with the theater full and sit right in the middle. I can't understand how anyone can enjoy a movie that way. Assuming that people can STFU throughout a movie, which they can't, but, a large crowd creates a nice energy to feed off of. Funnier scenes seem funnier when 100 people are laughing, and it's contagious. Sames with scary scenes, etc. I almost never laugh out loud by myself, but w/ others there I'm more apt to.

SB. It sounds intriguing. I can't say I know what it's about? Do you know the storyline? What exactly does "Seven Pounds" mean? TIS

I love movies with a twist (most of the time anyway). Don't tell me the twist though. I'm opposite of you. I hate to find out the twist and/or how a movie ends. Maybe I'll check it out. Thanks for the info. TIS
