Some of the stories blend together. As you remember, the reason that the family went to the restaurant on Christmas was because the dogs from next door ate their turkey. Those dogs belonged to Delbert Bumpus, a hillbilly who moved in next door to Shepherd with his entire extended family. They play a big part in the other movie.

The four books of his that I have and recommend are:

"A Fistful of Fig Newtons"

I'd concentrate on getting the first two, but all of them are wonderful.
