New Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell made his second significant staff move in as many days today, choosing not to renew the contract of special teams coach Russ Purnell.
Purnell, 60, who has held the position since 2002, confirmed the move but declined further comment. His contract is up at the end of the month. Hey, I like this guy already!

The Raiders need everything but new team colors and a logo. Nah, they need a new owner and a #1 WR to go with Johnny Lee Higgins and build their offense around their 3 RBs. But I'd say upgrade the O-line and D-Line first. Plus Mangini stole your D-Coordinator... I like the Raiders. As soon as Al Davis dies they will become one of my favorite teams. It's just a cool team. I like the colors and the logo, and they really have so much potential. And I always played as them on Tecmo Super Bowl on the NES. I'm not sold on Russell but if he can be average they can succeed with a strong rushing attack between Fargas, McFadden, and Bush. They need to sign the CB with the hard to say name to a long term contract.

T.J. Housh-your-mama will be a free agent.
By far the best from this list:
T.J. Houshmandzadeh, UFA, Cincinnati Bengals Bobby Engram, UFA, Seattle Seahawks Devery Henderson, UFA, New Orleans Saints Shaun McDonald, UFA, Detroit Lions Hank Baskett, RFA, Philadelphia Eagles Jabar Gaffney, UFA, New England Patriots Dante' Hall, UFA, St. Louis Rams Sam Hurd, UFA, Dallas Cowboys Brandon Jones, UFA, Tennessee Titans Ashley Lelie, UFA, Oakland Raiders Amani Toomer, UFA, New York Giants Roydell Williams, UFA, Tennessee Titans Cedrick Wilson, UFA, Pittsburgh Steelers
I'd love to get Boldin across from Reggie Wayne but that won't happen. Marvin will be released to clear cap room.

Minnesota needs a QB and a receiver for Bernard Berrian to compliment. With the current roster in place, I feel that the Vikings would be set with those two additions. If Minnesota had a QB that defenses had to respect, they would be tough to beat, particularly with the breakaway speed of Peterson. They'll be in the hunt for Matt Cassell, Derek Anderson, possibly Pennington, Kerry Collins if he doesn't stop whining, and perhaps Favre. I personally wish Favre would just ride off into the sunset.

My first post on this board, and it has to be about the bears. The bears are just lost right now especially on defense ever since Ron Rivera left. The only thing ill be happy with is the bears getting new owners, new coaches, and of at least an decent WR. I don't know why Babbich (I know I spelled that wrong) still has a job. Lovie's taking a bigger hand in the defense and I guess we'll have to see if that works. Plus they hired Rod Marinelli... The Bears D has really been underperforming since they let Rivera go. I didn't understand the move when they did it, and I don't understand it now. I think they need to get a better coordinator in there, maybe a different offensive coordinator too. I think Orton and Forte and even Greg Olsen are solid building blocks on the offense but they do need a true #1 WR like a T.J. Housh-your-mama. But I don't have any confidence in Jerry Angelo as GM.

I think they let Rivera go because he was costing alot of money or would be in the future to keep him around. Ron Turner needs to leave as he is terrible with play calling...but, over all though i blame Angelo and the ownership for the down fall since they are too cheap. Im hoping that the owner retires or dies (that may be sick, but its the truth) and the new owner makes changes.
