We've had some issues at my workplace with use/abuse of the internet. Yes, I stray, but only at lunch and after hours. However I'm not the one that let loose the virus that brought down our Citrix server...but now I'm paying the price.

After over two years of uninturrupted web surfing at work, I tried to check into the gangsterbb forum only to get roadblocked by our SonicWall firewall. gangsterbb.net was added to the list of prohibited sites at my workplace.

I couldn't think of valid business reason for unblocking the site, so my visits will now be oonfined to nights and weekends.

You can always try and get around it using a proxy such as Stupidcensorship. It worked for me before I got my own wireless broadband card to use at work.

I use to be able to get on the BB at work a couple years ago. Now, I can't even get my home e-mail from work. It was fun while it lasted. What, these people want me to "work" at work?

It's funny that this thread has been started in my absence. The main reason I never post from Florida is that my condo development offers free wireless internet service, and being that I don't have a desktop down there (I bring my laptop with me), I don't need a "landline" connection.

Anyway, their router won't allow access to the GangsterBB. Whenever I try to log on from down there, something called CERTIFICATE ERROR pops up. Then when I click on CERTIFICATE ERROR, it comes up CERTIFICATE NOT TRUSTED: ACCESS NOT ALLOWED.

I've thought about asking the management to list it as a safe site, but my neighbors down there already think I'm a Ginzo goon from New York, so how would it look if I asked to access a "gangster" website? lol.

When I go back at the end of the month, I'm going to buy a desktop, which will give me an excuse to order my own Internet connection. But just so Geoff knows, I figured I'd share this with you guys. Maybe there is something wrong with the "certificate." Don't ask me, because I'm not very computer savvy.

that CERTIFICATE is good. It came from a guy who knows this guy, who works for this other guy, who's girlfriend works for the guy who sister is sleeping with the guy who's office makes them out!

You mean the guy that did that thing last year? Or the guy that knows that other guy from the other place?

As far as I know, only "secure" (https://) sites need certificates... it shouldn't even be asking! But who knows how your management has things set up...
