I always thought that Presidents' Day was designated as such because it was halfway through Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays.

I remember as a kid when both were separate holidays.

A little off topic - I used to collect coins as a kid. I had LOTS of 1909 pennies (the first year that Lincoln appeared on them in observance of his centennial birthday). Now, you never see anything like that... it's very rare to see even the "wheat" penny anymore.


I used to have a silver penny, I think from 43.
