These things come in 3's, right? After my Sis-in-Law's dad passed a couple weeks ago, my aunt passed away last night (not totally unexpected, but prolonged)... I guess they do, as here's #3. Another very sick aunt (my dad's twin brother's widow) passed away -- 2 weeks to the day we visited her in the hospital (after my other aunt's funeral). She was unresponsive and was expected to last just two more weeks ...and so it went. I hope this is it for a while.

We have a cheap card shop close by. You can get any size card for any occasion for less than a pound. Hey presto! Made in the shade. In the movie V, they make an egg and toast dish that looks good. Did you see it? have you ever eaten a dish like that? What's it called and how do you make it?

Yay!
Just 6 weeks of low-dosage Lipitor (10mg e/o day) brought my Cholesterol down from 275 to 229 (It may've gone even lower if I still wasn't eating Halloween candy! ) And my blood pressure was 120/70 Sweet! 2.5 months later, despite the White Rose burgers and Pork Roll binge, it's down to 178. Triglycerides are a bit high, HDL a bit low, but LDL is down to 101. And my B.P. is still good.

I'm happy that you're trying, Geoffy. I really am. But you really have to get the HDL up and the trigycerides down. A Triglycerides/HDL ratio under 2 is ideal.
It is now a proven fact that the Tri/HDL ratio may be the single greatest predictor of heart disease.
Here's a recent finding:
BETTER KNOW YOUR TRIGLYCERIDE/HDL RATIO IF YOU WANT TO PREVENT A HEART ATTACK
Ronald Grisanti D.C., D.A.B.C.O., M.S. The published evidence is quite clear in documenting that the actual total cholesterol level itself is not the most important risk factor of cardiovascular disease.
It is the ratio between the level of HDL-"good" cholesterol and triglycerides that we need to be concerned about.
HDL is closely related to triglycerides.
It appears common for people with high triglycerides to have low HDL's, and these same people also tend to have high levels of clotting factors in their blood stream, which is unhealthy in protecting against heart disease.
Therefore, in adults, the triglyceride/HDL-"good" cholesterol ratio should be below 2 (just divide your triglycerides level by your HDL).
Or more precisely, the triglyceride/HDL ratio:
2 or less is considered ideal
4 - high
6 - much too high
And, since HDL (high density lipoprotein) is protective against heart disease, the lower the ratio, the better.
In other words, the lower your triglycerides, or the higher your HDL, the smaller this ratio becomes.
It is now believed that the triglycerides/HDL ratio is one of the most potent predictors of heart disease.
A Harvard-lead study author reported:
"High triglycerides alone increased the risk of heart attack nearly three-fold.
And people with the highest ratio of triglycerides to HDL -- the "good" cholesterol -- had 16 times the risk of heart attack as those with the lowest ratio of triglycerides to HDL in the study of 340 heart attack patients and 340 of their healthy, same age counterparts.
The ratio of triglycerides to HDL was the strongest predictor of a heart attack, even more accurate than the LDL/HDL ratio (Circulation 1997;96:2520-2525)."

Yeah, thanks, PB. I know I'm not totally there yet. So you're saying a ratio of 6.6 isn't good? PS - We're getting this advice from a Chiropractor??

We're getting this advice from a Chiropractor?? No worse than getting political advice from some of our genius board members .
