SB, do you think that the new movie Last House on the Left(?) might be a remake? The plot details on IMDB sound exactly like the original. I am not a big fan of the original - my main problem was unnecessary comic relief. The original would have been a great horror film if they edited out every scene involving the cops.

That comedy was just....in bad taste considering the rest of the movie.

Am i correct in thinking the original Last House On the Left was in the 70's????? I either saw it or a movie by a similar title. I remember seeing it at the drive-in and it was kind of sick creepy, yet I'll be darn if I remember the plot. I don't think I'd wanna see it again for some reason. TIS

An early example of pure hype and an excellent marketing campaign making a hit out of nothing.
You know, the BLAIR WITCH PROJECT of its time. I wouldn't say it was nothing. I wasn't alive in 1972, but I'm pretty sure it was one of the early films about ruthless killers that killed and raped for fun... and actually showed the brutal violence. As you mentioned with The Blair With Project, it was a success due to the creative marketing campaign, but because of the creative marketing a new type of horror film was brought to the masses and inspired new ways of thinking in horror filmmaking for years to come. While I have issues with the out-of-place comic relief, I think Last House on the Left deserves credit for influencing the genre.

Has anyone ever watched the game show "Hole In The Wall"?? This is alternately the funniest and most incredibly stupid show I've ever seen. Women stand on the edge of a pool while a wall with various shaped holes in it comes at them. They have to bend their bodies in the shape of the hole so that the moving wall doesn't knock them into the pool. http://www.fox.com/holeinthewall/Edit: Actually, I'm not sure if all the contestants are women. I've only seen the show once.

I have been hearing this story all day. I think it's "unconfirmed" however just now on my local news in one of there brief newsflashes, they indicated it might be true. I too only have heard of her, but don't know her. I didn't know she was married to Liam Neeson AND Vanessa Redgrave's daughter. Anyway, my great Aunt ( who was much older and fell under different circumstances) last year, slipped, fell and hit her head, walked away and felt fine with no obivious bump/bruise. Later that evening she had horrible pain and ended up on life support and brain dead within 24 hours. She passed away a day or so after (Well, they took her off life support). This sounds like the same kind of thing. Always, always check out any head injuries. You never know. TIS

SB, I just read that she was Redgrave's daughter. Yes, I loved Maid in Manhatten, but it's been a while. I can't place who she was. TIS
