LN, are you yawning, laughing or snarling? Or maybe all three at once, perhaps? Yeah, I was just being myself. You make Harry Potter look cool.
Actually, you look exactly like what Milhouse would look like at ya age if he was a real person....

My family's candy store is going to be featured in U.S.A. Today in the travel section on April 10th. Apparently Ralph Lauren's daughter has several candy stores in New York and my parents store was her inspiration . This has been a cool year for their store actually. It was used in a photo shoot for some magazine (taking pictures of a model). It was also used for some Asian Documentary and my dad is going to be in it, answering questions about candy in English, which I desperately hope to see! There was also a movie filmed on the main street of Carmel recently and it looked like the store was used as a background.

Good news Blib P.S. Yogi Jr,he of the dry bread and child logic? Playing in some local woods this morning (they are on holiday this week) he climbed up a slope and came back down head first Smashed his head on a tree stump and opened up a big gash. His mother has him away to the hospital getting patched up,i am at home looking after the others!

Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew Cover it with chocolate and a miracle or two Blibbleblabble's Dad, oh Blibbleblabble's Dad Blibble's Dad can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good. I'll be buying the USA Today Friday for sure. By the way, Carmel is a logical locale for a candy store. Have you ever had interest in working in the family business? On the food channel I once saw a segment about a guy, who operates a specialty chocolate shop in San Francisco. He learned how to make exquisite chocolates in Switzerland, and opened up his own small shop where he makes a controlled amount of candy daily (just enough to get by), sells it, closes the shop and goes surfing or something.

Has your family had it a long time? They've had it 30 years, as long as I've been alive. When I say I grew up in a candy store it's true. As a baby I used to sleep in the tiny back room in a cardboard box while both my parents were working. The funny thing is, after our whole lives growing up in there, my brothers and I haven't had a single cavity. The dentist used to joke saying we were bad patients because he depended on getting a lot of business from candy store owners Have you ever had interest in working in the family business? It's crossed my mind, but only because I would make more money than I'm making now. However, instead of handing the store to myself or one of my brothers, I think my parents want to sell it for as much money as they can possibly get so they can have a better retirement. I don't blame them. Besides, I did work there for 4 1/2 years, and it wasn't as fun as it might seem. Growing up with tourists everywhere, who have all left their brains at home, can be frustrating. I will be sad though when the store is no longer in my family.

Blibble, my in-laws have had a family restaurant for three generations that started as a candy store in the 1930s, called American Candy. In addition to the candy they started to make hamburgers and coffee, and soon the candy business was overtaken by the restaurant business. My MIL and FIL worked 7 days a week until my FIL died 6 1/2 years ago. It was an institution in their hometown.
My brother in law had to close it recentlybecause the economy, road works projects and low cost lunch deals from the chains combined to strangle the diner. Plus, he didn't want to devote every day to the business, and I don't blame him. Fortunately, the hardware chain, Lowe's, opened up their east coast distribution center nearby and hired him to operate their restaurant, which means no overhead cost for him and a asteady stream of young, hungry workers, who get a thirty minute lunch or dinner break and don't have time to get in their cars to eat.
How has the economy affected your parents' business?

I was watching a episode of Desperate Housewives and a nice poem was read..
written by Mary Elizabeth Frye (1905-2004).
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die.

I actually go to Payless first. I seem to find good deals and decent shoes. Honest, I'm not a hooker either. I am not one that has closet full of shoes and can't say I always am shoe shopping. Yet, I always seem to have good luck there, whether I'm looking for shoes, sandals, or tennis shoes. TIS

They glued Mike's head together at the hospital(shame they couldn't glue his lips together at the same time). He has a headache today and a sore neck, minor whiplash perhaps? The main bugbear for him though is no football for 2 weeks!!!! He is devastated by this
