I'm drinking an icy Pepsi.

But maybe I'll have a few pitchers of beer and some wine later.

I fell asleep on my brother's deck yesterday afternoon and something bit me. I have an itchy bump the size of a golf ball on my arm.

TIS, since I was a kid I'd always see and wonder about all the birds flying around the lamp posts at night in the neighborhood. That was, until someone told me they weren't birds! eek We found one (dead) in our basement when I was a kid, and it was the tiniest little thing, that it was almost cute. lol ...but then heard stories how they could get tangled in your hair and stuff, and it kinda freaked me out. But luckily that never happened. And probably won't now that I don't have quite as much hair as I did back than. whistle lol

WHAT???

I'm not a big fan of spiders, trust me... but Daddy Long Legs I don't even consider spiders. I love picking them up, and letting them crawl over my arms and pretty much anywhere - they can't hurt, and certainly aren't nearly as disgusting as those tiny little hairy mofos that seem to move at 120 MPH! eek Furry spiders are disgusting. So are the big ones with hard shells (like crabs)! But nah, not the innocent li'l Daddy Long Legs who seem to just like to chill!! tongue

I agree completely! Daddy Long Legs are the one type of spider I refuse to kill when the family is freaking out over it. I always let them go in the yard. The rest of those lightning quick hairy spiders, or even worse the jumping wolf spiders need to die instantly.

Geez, I am not necessarily afraid of spiders, but I just stomp on them or bug spray them. I don't care what kind of bug it is (I'm not a critter person).

Geoff, speaking of bats. Many years ago (In Michigan), I opened the door from our kitchen, which led right to a breezeway. I was gonna go to the garage and in my car. As soon as I opened the door, fluttering wings and an ugly disgusting rat face went right by my face. panic I screamed, and fell on my ass in between the kitchen and the breezeway. I felt there was no time to even get on my feet, and slammed the door shut with my foot. That damn bat stayed glued to the wall in the breezeway for what seemed like a couple hours.

I had to wait and watch for my husband to get home because I sure as hell wasn't going to even go near that creature. He opend the breezeway doors, got a broom and chased it out. I will NEVER forget that. lol

Oh, and my first "batty" experience. I was about 10/11 and attended catholic school. The class was in the church basement, where they held many events throughout the year, at some school program. Suddenly a bat flies overhead very low. Everybody screamed, and I ran like crazy to the bathroom and shut the door. lol I don't even like regular birds flying anywhere near me. I'll cross the street when I see a flock of pigeons anywhere. lol Don't know why.

A few years back my brother was visiting and we went to Universal Studios tour. At the end we were all seated watching a show (of sorts). They opened a big hatch and tons of birds came flying toward the audience. I screamed like crazy and covered my head (they were regular birds not bats). Of course my useless brother just laughed his ass off. lol

I drank a martini for the first time in years on Sunday SB. My wife had made a pitcher of them up for her and my mother whilst we sat outside in the sun. Because i was having problems thinking about having to move in order tgo go to the fridge to rescue a beer i allowed myself to guzzle a martini instead.

Very dry,very pleasant. Very thirst-quenching and palate-tingling!

We had bats in the attic of a converted 19th Century mansion where I used to work. One secretary was terrified of them and worked on the upper level. I bought a lifelike rubbery bat that dangled from a thin string on a stick. After setting her up that morning by sayimg I saw some bats, I waited a couple hours before sneaking up behind her and bouncing the thing over her shoulder. Her scream had people running up from two floors below.

It's illegal to exterminate bats. They're the best weapon out there controlling the the mosquito population. They're nature's superheroes, rodents with wings.
