Traffic around here is REALLY bad.... the U.S. Open (golf) is being held this week and it's only five miles away. I have to leave an extra half hour for travel to work (what normally takes 20 minutes to drive).

I heard on the radio that it was a real feeding frenzy over there because Tiger showed up early.

Has anyone noticed that people in general are a pain in the rear lately? Not on the BB, in every day life! Work, grocery store, family, etc. This economy has people acting ubatz! Just sayin'...

I am so sick of my stupid, stupid job. Nobody is doing anything in this economy, except for wasting my time!! They make bids, come to agreements, we send out contracts, and then they back out. I'm now on the third set of contracts for the same building, and the price gets lower each time.

I sympathize, Babe. But at least you don't have to chase your money after you complete your deal. I've had to evict 3 tenants in the last 18 months. You feel for the families, you really do, but there's only so much you can do. If you let one delinquent family stay, you have to let them all stay.

There's the court fees, which you never get back (if they're gonna stiff you on the rent, they're NEVER gonna pay you the court fees). Then you have to refurbish the apartment every time. New stove, new refrigerator, new fixtures, etc.

The economy is taking it's toll on everyone. Hopefully, it can only get better.

Sure I do. If I do a lease instead of a purchase, I have to trust the landlord to pay me on time. And they almost never do. Because our commission is 5% of the aggregate rental, it's a big chunk of money. We usually agree to spread it out over several payments. In the best of times, those payments are late. Now, they're MONTHS late.

Yeah, I guess chasing a deadbeat landlord is no better than chasing a deadbeat tenant .

What a pain in the ass.

Since these deals take anywhere from six months to two years to complete, it's always fun to have to chase your freaking money, too.

It's a shame that it can take up to 2 years for a deal to complete.
