This day is reminding me of a few years back when Johnny Cash and John Ritter died back to back. Cash had been in ailing health and after June died he was kind of expected. But Ritter was a complete shock.
I remember one vivid recollection of watching the Thriller video. I was slipped a hit of acid and was tripping, and that video was on tv. I was swatting these demon eyes that were jumping out of the screen and attacking me. For someone who only ever smoked pot, that was not an enjoyable evening.

Damn, what a video to watch while trippin'. I wouldn't think it'd be very enjoyable. TIS

Adios kid toucher. JMO YMMV. His talent and mark on music can NOT be denied and for that he'll be remembered as a great talent. However, the big stain is not on his career but is personal life. (Don't know what JMO YMMV means). I have a hard time praising his talent without thinking of his personal behavior and it makes my grief (so to speak) uneven. No what I mean? TIS

I forgot about "Off The Wall." Don't laugh, but my husband and I took disco dancing classes (ha ha ha) and this was a big album we'd dance to during that era. OMG, did I just say that I disco danced? TIS

TIS JMO YMMV = Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary. You can't deny Jackson's talent. "Thriller" is arguably one of the top 3 albums of all time. Bottom line is though, he was a child molester. I won't be shedding any tears.

Saw it on the TV at a restaraunt and was (and am) shocked and saddened.
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

MSN is doing a phone interview with Brian Oxman, the Jackson family attorney. Oxman says he is waiting for the final autopsy to confirm death and then he says he's gonna name names of Doctors and excess of prescription drugs. He claims that for about two years he's told the Jackson family that one day Michael would not wake up and that when that day happens he's gonna tell all. Nobody seemed to do anything about it. Nobody would say no to MJ. He suggested that MJ prescription drug problem is much worse than Anna Nicole Smith. We'll see. TIS

Another tidbit, I don't know if it's true or not. Evidently MJ owns 50 percent of one of the Beatles Songbooks (not quite sure what that is). The record company owns the other 50 percent. According to the report after Ebony & Ivory MJ and Paul had a falling out. MJ, according to this report felt bad and left this songbook to Paul in his will. How he knows this, I don't know. Stories run rabid today. Beth, one connection MJ & Elvis....Lisa Marie. Now what the hell was she thinking? She and Priscilla issued nice statements to the family though. TIS

I think someone mentioned the link between his death and Elvis'. We'll see if there really isn't that much of a stretch between the two. There's definitely a link. Perhaps not the death itself but their way of living an dying. We've been seing this for some years. Michael wasn't able to handle his wealth and his health. I've always thought that the way Michael treated his body was peculiar. Not only the continuous reshapings of his face but also the peculiar approach to health in general - sleeping in an oygen tent, etc. Both, Michael and Elvis wanted to perfect their lives. To Elvis who came from a really poor family it meant: "Eat as much as you can." Obviously both considered a doctor trustworthy only if he did what they demanded. ...
