I think we need a translation from Yogi.

Does anyone watch AMC's Mad Men? Season premier is tomorrow. It's been so long. I forgot where it ended. TIS Season 2 finale spoiler alert!! (Courtesy of Capo and TIS) Season 2 ended when Don came back from his California excursion to find that Sterling Cooper was sold to an overseas firm; Don clears about 500K from the deal; Duck assumes Don has a compliancy clause in his contract, and when Don tells him he doesn't have a contract, Duck flips out in a meeting and probably blew his chance at being President after the take over; Peggy told Pete that she had his baby. I'm excited for the new season, but I hope it doesn't copy of The Sopranos' storylines as much as season 2 did. For what it's worth, AMC's Breaking Bad is a much better show. THAT is the best show on TV, IMO.

Thanks for the update Sopranoleone, but don't forget to "hide" the plot lines. Many haven't seen it and especially in the UK (like Capo), they don't get it til much later than us. Capo, I find the show really appealing because it's so different (for lack of a better word.) Also, the 60's is my era and I can relate to certain things (i.e. like the backdrop of an election/politics and generally what was going on in the world). This won't reveal anything plot wise, but rather just an observaion: My friend from work and I, last year were talking about it. She commented on how EVERYONE smoked. When I saw the first season, I laughed and yet recalled when one could smoke anywhere. Smoke was everywhere. That aside, I find the characters/storylines rather interesting and look forward to watching. TIS

Hi Bam, In a nutshell it is the story of an advertising firm taking place in the 1960's showing climbs up the corporate ladder and centering around a main character (among other interesting characters), Don Draper. This show is on AMC and really, I think, gets little promotion, in spite of the fact it's won several emmys. Here's the link. They may have a few short video links, I'm not sure. Btw, I swear there was a thread titled Mad Men. Of course, I can't find it even on a search. http://www.amctv.com/originals/madmen/about/TIS

Actually I did that with Seinfeld, where I never watched the first few seasons. I'd tune in breifly and then turn the channel. Then I started watching some on the rerun channel and loved it. I do think it's one of the comedy shows ever. Who knew "nothing" could be so funny? TIS

Exactly, PB. I watch reruns of several shows of which I rarely watched original broadcasts. Friends, Frasier, and Two and A Half Men are a few examples. "Frasier" was a fantastic show. Very intelligent. I think it stayed on a year or two too long, though. In my opinion, it was much better prior to Niles and Daphne getting together. She was much funnier and more at ease as a flighty housekeeper/physical therapist, than as an overnight socialite. Their relationship just didn't seem very natural. To be painfully honest, it didn't seem realistic, either. I mean, the rich may diddle the help, but they don't marry them.

I could watch Peri Gilpen all day. She's from Waco, ya know. Yeah, I knew she was a Texan. But I love her, anyway . I agree. She was great!

I never watched The Nanny till I seen it on Lifetime Channel. I mean, the rich may diddle the help, but they don't marry them. Same thing happened on The Nanny.

Has anyone watched any of the new season shows yet? I pretty much have a few of my old favorites, but have watched The Vampire Diaries first two episodes and am surprisingly pleased. Of course, it's a take-off sort of, of Twilight, but the first two episodes caught my interest. I am a Ghost Whisperer and Medium fan and saw the first episodes of that. I wanted to see the Opener for Law and Order. Did anyone catch that yesterday? It'll be o again tonight, so I'm hoping to see it. I sawy the Monday night comedy line-up on CBS too. TIS

Perhaps some minor news that you guys don't know since I think I'm the only one who watches Desperate Housewives.... Drea DeMatteo aka Adriana from the Sopranos has now joined the cast as a new neighbor on Wisteria Lane. It's nice seeing her again. She was only introduced yesterday but plays the part of a wife and mother of a teenage son who has an "Edward" from Twilight look. Drea looks a little older but still the same, so far losing the Ho-ish look. What a different type role for her though. Oli was right....Aid lives!! TIS
