This is a funny one. He didn't ask for the move apparently,he wanted to stay and help us back up but Fulham came in and all our players are for sale!

They were showing his stats on Sky yesterday though and the success he had at Blackburn and Chelsea was not repeated for us. His Toon stats were shocking

Still i will not hold him in the same distaste i now hold the likes of Owen,Bassong,Given,N'Zogbia,Milner and Beye

Why would you have distaste for Given he gave you 10 years service, he wanted a change i guess..

He did give us good service and was a big favourite up here but he shot his mouth off when he left which is the distasteful bit. Everyone knows the club is in chaos and players want to leave. When he did he should of gone quietly and not opened his mouth.

Of course since i praised Duff the other day he has now come out and had a go as well so he goes on the list now as well


By the way DN,what happened to your lot at Burnley?

Another great win for the Toon. Just to mention that our Championship game at home to Sheff Wed got 43,000 fans in. More than Sunderland the night before in their Premiership home game against Chelsea

I find it hilarious when players try to justify transfers on grounds other than financial 'greed' (you can't blame them, I suppose). Given saying that he left Newcastle because they weren't going anywhere and that Man City were, as if this was anything new.

Yup, Given waffling on that he wasn't shown any repect blah,blah,blah...

Like the £40,000 a week and the cult worship he recieved anywhere he went wasn't enough for him?

Great win for Newcastle last night.

Top of the League as well

It is a good start,doing better than i thought to be honest.

I think we're doing better than anyone thought. We've got rid of some players who are great 'on paper', and have retained a small core of grinders. We seem to be all the better for it.

You can't beat a squad of grinders mate

Smithy has been a revelation. The "youngsters" are doing great as well.

Squad size is a worry of course, but at least we survived the transfer window, and are not losing any more players any time soon.

I'd like to see Hughton stay and do well; I'd take him over Shearer, actually.
