So what's the difference of Scotland letting that scum loose and Obama letting the Gitmo scum loose?

The difference is that Scotland knows their murderer will be dead in a few months (not that that makes his release right) and Obama really has 'no idea' (in his own words) what's to be done with the Gitmo prisoners (many of whom most likely have a long, healthy life ahead).

In fact...isn't the administration still trying to find a place to put these guys when Gitmo closes?

Why not ask former President Bush?

Since October 7, 2001 775 detainees have been brought to Guantánamo. Of these, about 420 have been released without charge. As of now, about 245 detainees remain. Of those released, the Bush adminsistration released 420 as folows:

July 2005, 242 detainees were moved out of Guantánamo, including 173 that were released without charge, and 69 transferred to the governments of other countries, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

November 2005, 358 of the then-505 detainees held at Guantánamo Bay had Administrative Review Board hearings. Of these, 3% were granted and were awaiting release, 20% were to be transferred, 37% were to be further detained at Guantánamo, and no decision had been made in 40% of the cases.

Appeals to human nature are always too facile, and often dangerous. Apple herself contradicts her argument here:

If it can go both ways, it's not human nature in the pre-determined sense, the sense that I think you mean (if there is another sense, pray tell). The argument disregards wider, deeper sociological matters. Everything and anything can be attributable to "human nature". A nation's economic prosperity can be down to human nature as much as poverty or racism can be. It's either a truism, meaningless or inaccurate.

'Hate' doesn't come out of a vacuum.

I think Apple meant people voting for and against Obama based only on his race ==> Those who voted only because he was black are as much racists as those who didn't only because he is black.

I haven't heard or read someone's use of the term negro in quite a while and I don't know the difference between a Marxist and a devout Marxist (maybe Mig or Apple know). A usurper? An elected usurper?

TEMPE, Az. -- The United States Secret Service is speaking out about an East Valley pastor who is praying for President Barack Obama's death.

Spokesperson Darrin Blackford said Monday, "We are aware of Pastor Anderson's comments and an appropriate follow up will be conducted."

Parishioners leaving the Faithful Word Baptist Church Sunday carried not just their Bibles, but guns as well.

Pastor Steven Anderson said he and his congregation have received death threats after a controversial sermon earlier this month."Guns are a great deterrent," said Anderson. "We haven't had any violence because people know if they come down here swinging a baseball bat, we're ready to protect ourselves."

On August 16th, Anderson delivered a sermon titled "Why I Hate Barack Obama."In it, Anderson admitted he prays for the president's death.It is a position he reiterated Sunday.

"If you want to know how I'd like to see Obama die, I'd like him to die of natural causes," said Anderson. "I don't want him to be a martyr, we don't need another holiday. I'd like to see him die, like Ted Kennedy, of brain cancer."

I think this "hate" atmosphere is getting kind of scary.

I never saw people packing heat and "christians" preaching hatred like I see. I reiterate MANY (NOT ALL) of Obama's critics are racists pure and simple. They are white supremicists who hate the idea of not having a white president. There are people talking secession in Texas. I say let them secede, and then place an embargo on them.

Miggie...I never said all his enemies were white, nor do I say all his critics are racist. There are legitimate policy debates going on and there is nothing wrong with respectful disagreement. For example in this stunning role reversal we have "conservative" George Will calling for us to get out of Afghanistan, and "liberal" Obama considering putting in more troops. Will is not being a racist when he is critical of this and of Obama's fidcal policies, he is merely stating his
point of view.

That kind of disagreement is perfectly understandable. Calling Obama code words like an "interloper," a "userper" not a "real american" someone who "hates white people," not a "legitimate" president let alone those who talk about seceding from the Union, and who tote guns to town hall meetings have a degree of irrational anger that goes well beyond honest disagreement.

Like TIS, all this hatred is scary. People who are suppose to be preaching the love of God is preaching hate instead. That is a shame.

Read the above statement and really stop and think about what it says.

A PASTOR who is PRAYING for President Barack Obama's DEATH!

How scary that a man who professes to be a man of GOD would not only say something like this, but even think it! And to think that there are people out there, in his church, who look upon this man as their religious teacher and leader.

I saw/heard that story too DC. A man of the cloth??? This is a totally different political atmosphere than mere political differences in views. It scares the hell out of me to be honest.

It's one thing to disagree with a President or even to hate him as President, but to wish him death is about as cold hearted, hateful of a threat there could be. I pray that Obama's team of Secret Service have covered to the nth degree.

1st Amendment. What happened to "United States" of America. Too much diversity, too much freedom? This is what will eventually bring an end to America. It was a good run, but even the Roman Empire and the British Empire came too an end. I'll be dead when it happens, but it will happen.

What's happened is we are so dumbed down that people on the fringes no longer think for themselves, but follow nut jobs like that preacher and adopt these crazy mind sets. We will collapse like Britain and Rome if we do not educate ourselves better.

MADISON - U.S. Rep. Paul Broun is again raising the specter of Democrats turning the United States into a totalitarian state.

Broun, R-Athens, apparently has not changed his belief that President Obama may be a fascist since he made similar remarks in Augusta in November and then in an Associated Press interview.

He told a meeting of the Morgan County Republicans on Wednesday night that Obama already has or will have the three things he needs to make himself a dictator: a national police force, gun control and control over the press.

"He has the three things that are necessary to establish an authoritarian government," Broun said. "And so we need to be ever-vigilant, because freedom is precious."

As he did when comparing Obama to Hitler and the Soviets last year, Broun cited a speech Obama gave in Colorado during the campaign last July calling for "a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the military.

In the speech, Obama called young Americans to serve both at home and abroad, and said he would expand the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps and other volunteer opportunities. Broun, however, said Obama was referring to a national police force.

"'The liberals say, 'What is wrong with Americorps?' " Broun said. "Well, this is not Americorps."

Broun also said he thinks the national media is openly supporting Obama's policies. He also said he believes the president and Attorney General Eric Holder will enact new gun-control policies.

Re the speech to school children that Obama will give. Gee, I wonder what the "real" reason for this kind of uproar is.
