One of the local TV anchors/radio hosts resigned his jobs and started running for Detroit City Council. He was the largest vote getter in the primary and was considered a lock for Council President. However as it turns out his condo is in foreclosure and even before that when he was renting he had a long history of not paying bills. He had something like 11 separate eviction notices. So the local papers withdrew their endorsements. But I don't think that will dampen support for him. He was earning at least $240K/yr but as Council President would earn $85K/yr. So the fair question is if you can't figure out how to manage your private money should you be trusted with the city's finances? But considering some of the current council members, Pugh still looks decent to voters.. Withdrawn_Endorsement

What's going on in Ft. Hood Texas????? All I know is there are many shots fired, people in military fatigues and two suspects in custody. TIS UPDATE: Unconfirmed reports that 7 killed and over 30 wounded. WTF????? Also, MSN says President Obama to speak soon on this. Makes me wonder. Kind of scary.

Army says at least 7 dead in attack at Fort Hood, TexasAP .
FORT HOOD, Texas – At least seven people were killed and 20 wounded in two shootings Thursday at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas, the Army said. At least two gunmen were believed to be involved in attack, and one was in custody, the military said. The first shooting began at about 1:30 p.m. at a personnel and medical processing office, Army spokesman Lt. Col. Nathan Banks said. The facility, called a Soldier Rating and Processing center, handles administrative details for soldiers.
Banks says the second shooting took place at a theater on the sprawling base

I've been to Ann Arbor, but it's been years and years. When I visited G.R. a couple years ago, my brother took me to this records store that's been there forever called "Dodd's Records." This place, while old as the hills, as new and used records of all kinds. The guy has shelves of old dusty records and if he doesn't have it, has a pretty good idea where to order what you need. TIS

Now this guy REALLY didn't want to go to traffic court. FYI: The Throgs Neck Bridge is in clear view of my backyard. Man Jumps Off Bridge In Failed Attempt To Escape CopA motorcyclist caught driving with a suspended license at the Bronx-side entrance to the Throgs Neck Bridge decided to jump rather than face arrest yesterday. Rocky Sanchez, 43, has had his license suspended 17 times, and when MTA Bridges and Tunnels Officer Charles Luce pulled him over by the toll plaza, Sanchez wasn't about to go down without a fight. First he sped away from Luce, then abandoned his motorcycle, ran across six lanes of traffic, climbed over the wall and jumped about 30 feet! And he would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for that meddling Luce. Sanchez landed in shallow water—fortunately for him, the tide was high, or he would have landed on the rocky shoreline—and Luce, a regular John McClane, gave chase. He apprehended Sanchez in the water, and arrested him for driving with a suspended license, obstruction and resisting arrest. Sanchez was then taken to Jacobi Hospital suffering from hypothermia. One cop tells the Post, "[Officer Luce] scaled the wall and dropped about 10 feet into calf-high water. It was very heroic." What a nut job!
