Looks like rain outside

I was right its just stopped..

Its been raining all day..

We're in the middle of the monsoon season here in the high desert. We get a brief, intense, often highly localized, period of rain each day. Been hot, too--high 95 or 96, low 70. Temperature stayed into the eighties as late as 10 p.m., also very unusual for here.

Last week we were in Seattle and Vancouver. Temperatures were in the eighties there--unusual. Yesterday I heard that the high in Seattle was 96--and 104 in Vancouver. Incredible!

It was 102° in Seattle today... an all-time new record.

Somehow we switched coasts here in the U.S. The Pacific northwest is known for its cool, rainy weather, and that's what we have in New York this summer; they have our heat and humidity.

What's gotta be hard on them there is many people don't have air conditioning. The news reported that there isn't a fan to be had in the area (they're all sold out).

Yeah, the hotel we stayed in in Vancouver was an apartment hotel. Our apartment had one 5k btu air conditioner and some fans. I bet today's occupants were boiling.

Re. East Coast: Our former home in Summit NJ had a damp basement. We gave the buyers a concession to put in a French drain. I bet they simply pocketed the money--and are now canoeing in that basement, given the rain you've had this summer.

Its just stopped raining.

Thanks for asking, TIS, but no, we don't miss NJ. We bought our home here in AZ almost five years ago and had been going back and forth. So we had plenty of time to adjust. By the time we moved here permanently, two years ago, we were tired of going back and forth.

A bit breezy but very warm and pleasant today!

I went on a few errands and by the time I got home, it took me 10 minutes to peel off my shirt (it was sticking to me like a second skin).

Gonna settle in for what will be a stormy night here... supposed to get heavy rain and some wind later on. Perfect night for a good scary movie!!

Just spoke to Mr. Babe who is driving home in the rain. He said that it almost sounds like sleet on the windshield.

He's only working half a day today?

Only because he didn't get home until after midnight last night.

It rained on and off here today. And the Col has to work 4 hours over. He won't get home till about 3am in the morning.

The temperature is going to get down to the mid 50s tonight!! Fall weather!! Gotta love it!

It's suppose to go down to '47 here tonight. I'm gonna have to dig out the flannel pj's soon.

47? Wow! We've had a great summer so far. Only last week did we get 100 degree plus temps (in a row). It's going to be about 100 today but decrease a few degrees each day. In California we still get hot days in September which is still considered a summer month (weather-wise).
