Hey JG, you should "auto draft" more often. You saying the computer is smarter than me? (It is) lol I would've had 173 pts optimally
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

I'm still trying to figure out how Larry Johnson had a run up the middle for a loss of 89 yards. He had to be running the wrong way... I tried looking that up and didn't notice anything like that in the play-by-play. I can't see that ever happening lol, but if it didn't, I'm sure your score will be adjusted by Tuesday.

You've convinced me Lou. Where's DB? [/pitchforks and torches] My reasons are simple: I'm completely fine with somebody sitting by their computer while watching football all day Sunday - in fact, that sounds fun. To win this game though, I don't want to make anybody feel obligated to do that. It's the weekend - I want people to feel relaxed and not have to worry about missing a key injury because they decided to do other things on a Sunday. Second, I've always felt that any geographic advantages or disadvantages should be minimized. The most extreme example of this is Yogi - by the time Sunday night or Monday night games are over, Yogi should long be asleep and if something were to happen during the evening games, he would be disadvantaged everytime. As far as how the new system works, the pool of available players will be available on waivers after the first game on Sunday through Tuesday midnight (for exact times, please see my other post). Players during this time will be added via waiver priority. After Tuesday, the players not picked up through waivers will become free agents and are on a first come-first served basis. You can still dump your players, but for a short bit of time after the games start, you might have to sit it out and wait a little bit to see if you can add them. After Tuesday though, it's the same as before. In my opinion, JL, this new rule doesn't affect your initial strategy. You can still stream players all you like. You or I (you have to remember that I employ a very similar strategy to you) might not get everyone we want, but that's what the rule is designed to do. All of this being said, based on past history, my opinion is that this new change will not do much. Players who do research and keep up with sleepers will continue to do so and those who don't won't change either. In any case, I apologize if this new change negatively affects anyone, but I believe it's the right thing to do. All I'm doing is trying limit the amount of time that is almost mandatory that players have to be in front of computers, especially at unreasonable (in my opinion anyway) hours.

And why didn't we discuss it before it was implemented?
I agree, but just let it go. I have, and was probably more mad about it than anyone. 1/2 because I didn't like the change, and 1/2 because it was done after the draft without consent of the league. I just found out about it yesterday, and would you have told MLK or Rosa Parks to let it go? We've got to fight these injustices, man! And very nice, goombah. I'd order a horse's head put into your bed but you root for the Browns, and well, you've suffered enough.

I use the same system Don Sicilia implemented in my league. It's just to give everyone a fair shot at acquiring a player. The teams at the bottom of the standings should have more of a chance to improve with a roster move than the team in 1st or 2nd place.
I imagine that the decision went down something like this:
Longneck: "Who ordered the change in the waiver rules after the draft?
J Geoff: "It was the moderator."
Just Lou: "Yeah, I know. But who gave the order? I know I didn't."
J Geoff: "There was this kid I grew up with - he was younger than me. We played in our first fantasy leagues together. This was a man of vision and guts. Later, he had an idea to manage an online fantasy sports website as a stopover from the daily grind. That kid's name was Don Sicilia and the game he invented was Gangster BB Fantasy Football. Sometimes he has to make tough choices that not everyone agrees with...so when he made an adjustment to the waiver rules, I let it go. I knew Don Sicilia was busy and headstrong, always rooting for his Chicago teams. And I said to myself 'This is the fantasy football league we have chosen.' I didn't ask why the change was made because it had nothing to do with business!" Don Cardi? Is that you? And as far as the Browns, I'm just happy to have another fan on the board with a bad team. We can suffer together. Hug?
