I would love a big rain storm. Yet, I sure can't complain now can I? Our triple digit heat broke and it was about 90ish today and will be in the 80's most of the rest of the week they say. Perfect actually.

That's about the only thing I don't like about the Pacific coast beaches.... the water temperature is COLD! Reminds me of swimming in Maine.

All ocean water is cold, but the Atlantic has to be way way colder no???? Even the lakes back in Michigan, even in the dead of summer would be cold.

Not at all.... the ocean water off the south shore of Long Island here gets up to the mid 70s every summer (thanks to the Gulf Current). It's like the low 60s even off San Diego.

Go swimming in the Gulf (off Florida's west coast) and it's like taking a bath... the water temp often runs close to 85° and higher.

I didn't know that! Come to think of it though, years ago I was in Florida two different times and the water was like bath water. Hmmmmmm.

I think might be about what the low is here, or maybe 60, but it's getting cooler at night. I don't mind it cooling off at night. It's easier to sleep.

I agree TIS. I sleep better when the bedroom is cold. Matter of fact the Col. will open the window even if it's below zero if he gets hot.

Breezy, sunny and cool. It is the perfect sleeping weather. I don't know if the weather played a part, but last night was the first night in a few years that I slept completely through he night.

Give me a heads-up before you get your winter coat out of storage... that will make it official for me.

Funny you mention that, Yogi. When I was a kid I'd LOVE to play out in the rain and it never mattered if I got wet... NOW, if I see it is even drizzling lightly, I'll either postpone going out or grab a big umbrella.

When I was little, my grandmother used to let me put on my rain slicker and play on the fire escape in the rain. I thought it was the coolest thing on earth. Then my mother caught me out there and had a fit, convinced I was going to slip and plummet to my death, so that was the end of that.

Really sad, especially considering that your grandmother lived on the first floor.

I am the same SC. Used to love playing sports in the rain when i was a kid. Now i hate it. I even make the dog walk himself when it is raining

It frosted this morning.

The east coast is getting hit with one of those classic November Nor'easters. We're in the 2nd day here in South Jersey. Cape May county is in a state of emergency. Its suppose to last until Saturday morning. Many beaches are washing away. Luckily it is between new and full moons so high tide is not as severe. I drove down to the Longport beach at 9 am and the wind was wicked. They were cleaning sand off the streets near the beach where the ocean breached the sea wall.

My nephew lives in north Jersey, on the beach. He was on the NJ12 News this morning. He no longer has a beach. These storms are worse than Hurricanes because they just sit in one spot for a couple of days - The Perfect Storm.

The streets stay flooded. The water can't drain.

My kids got sent home from work yesterday early cuz of that storm.
