There’s a right way to pay for health care. The House passed a better, fairer reform bill, and it’s paid for by a surtax on the very wealthiest earners-the ones who benefited from big Bush-era tax cuts for the rich.
We need health care reform-but we shouldn’t hurt middle-class workers and their health benefits in the process. Contact your Senators and ask for real reform.
AMEN, PB! I have heard this tax on benefits is going to get thrown out in the conference committee. It is a terrible idea, and I agree... tax everyone making more than $500,000, or better impose an even higher tax on everyone making more than a million dollars, and impose a 40% tax on anyone making more than 20 million (stop these crazy bonuses!)
I am reading there are rumblings about a VAT tax in our future. All in all not a terrible idea.
