I have suffered from my first ever series of migraine headaches and have had to take the day off work. I have no idea what caused it but i have been loaded with cold and stuffed with snot for weeks so that may have something to do with it.....

I have sympathy for people who suffer with them. I thought my head was going to roll off my shoulders. Awful experience

Sorry to hear that, Yogi. If it's a true migraine then I suspect the cold you've had has nothing to do with the headache.

Try drinking a lot of water and stay in a dark, quiet room.

Thanks SC. Feel better now. Had it this morning. Went back to bed with a pint of water. Still got the headache but the pains in my eyes and the feeling that my neck was broken has passed!

I've had them (rarely) and they are killers. I wish I knew what set them off so I could obviously avoid them, but I have no idea. Could be something you eat or drink, or some tension related.

I have found that gentle massage of the temples and of the back of the neck (at the base of the head) helps.

I know some people who get them regularly and I, sure as hell, am glad I'm not one of them.

I certainly would not want to get another. For sure!

Translation: Geoff went to the dentist's office. He saw that the dentist was a woman. He saw that she was 70 years old, and weighed only 90 pounds. He then threatened to beat the stuffing out of her unless she worked on his tooth today.

Geoff, ANY doctor/dentist with whom you've had a professional relationship SHOULD take you in on an emergency basis considering the pain you have. If he/she wouldn't, you should go get another dentist.

I am one of those unfortunate souls who suffer with migraines. They use to be so bad I would have to go to the ER and get a shot in the ass. When I would wake up with one I had to stay in the dark. I put blankets on the windows. No matter what I took for them they would not go away. I would feel like I had to throw up. The only relief I would get was when I slept. But as soon as I woke up it came back. They would stay all day. After alot of testing the doctor found out what was wrong. It turned out it was the birth control pills I was on. I went off of those and now I don't have migraines anymore.

I hope you get good results at the Dentist today.

U.S. military rules specifically prohibit the proselytizing of any religion in Iraq or Afghanistan and were drawn up in order to prevent criticism that the U.S. was embarked on a religious "Crusade" in its war against al Qaeda and Iraqi insurgents.

...but so is the pain. WTF?? It's not recovery pain, it's as bad or even worse than before! I have to go back in 2 weeks to finish the job, but it shouldn't be like this. Last time there was no pain afterwards. But, she put me on a stronger antibiotic starting tomorrow for 7 days. Didn't want to try the Vicoprofen after already having a couple of glasses of wine, so will try that tomorrow if it still hurts a lot (since Advil, for me, has worked as well or even better than the Percocets).
