Don't know if this exactly fits in with the current conversation but... Things have changed a whole lot. I remember when buying a holster/gun set for a gift for my nephews was a great idea. I myself, when I was little, being somewhat of a tomboy would join in playing cowboys/Indians pretend shooting/killing. Is it totally unacceptable to own these toys any more? Geez, a gun/holster was always the perfect gift for a little boy. I remember my little brother loving is plastic army men, playing blow 'em up and killing the bad guy. I can still hear his blasting sounds he'd make as he was pretending. Just an observation I guess. TIS

When my daughters were invited to birthday parties, I always went with the sexist stereotypical gifts. If it was a girl's party, she got a Barbie and for a boy's party, it was toy cars or a Tonka truck.
I think my daughters also received the "bead assortment", which is supposed to be used to make jewelry, etc. However, I think, like the one Christmas fruitcake that makes the rounds, there really is only one box of beads that gets regifted over and over again.

I must have played with them everyday. I loved them. And a gun and holster set - I may buy one of them too - and wear it.

Ordered an HDTV earlier and Amazon estimated it'd be delivered Monday: the day after the Super Bowl. Hopefully when the carrier contacts me about a delivery appointment I can make them an offer they can't refuse.

She's actually being moved to a local rehab this afternoon. Out in 5 days from surgery -- pretty amazing!

You got a new TV too? What kind? Let me guess? You HAD to get it before the Super Bowl??? Of course! Amazon originally said to expect it Monday -- the day after -- and I was like, crap! But the carrier called and said Friday. I got a 46" LED LCD from Sharp. It's the same height as my 36" which makes it the same size but wider. When the upcoming new 3D HDTV's are more established then I may super-size it in a few years lol

He wanted to sell it on Ebay, but how the hell would we have shipped it??? Craig's List is more local - they'd have to pick it up

My luck, the Craig's List killer would show up. Btw, I took another look at the Target site. My mistake . I posted the wrong TV. It was this Apex 40 inch.
