Three year old Matthew has just informed me that he has a girlfriend at nursery

Her name is Ava and they have both been invited to a birthday party next week. Thats how i found out. He bought the invite home today and told me it would be nice to go to the party to see his girlfriend.........

I remember having a nursery school crush, too. Kooties came later I think, but didn't last long.

There's a buffet restaurant in the complex that I work called Gekko; their tagline is "Greed is Good". I take great pleasure in informing people whenever I go there what it refers to.

According to the autopsy, Jackson suffered from the skin disease vitiligo, causing him to have white patches along his abdomen, face, arms, and chest.

The singer also wore a wig to conceal the fact that he was balding and had only a "sparse" amount of hair, possibly the result of his accidental burning while filming a 1984 Pepsi commercial.

Interesting how Levi's photo has been described as "pornography" by Conservative politicians, but not one peep from them about Senator Brown's nude spread in Cosmo.

I am happy to announce that our family has found a new house. We are moving about 15 minutes south of where we are currently living, but in a much nicer home and neighborhood. We have been looking for about a year and it's not been easy dragging little kids from open house to open house.

The only downside is that it means changing schools, which we were against initially. But since we could not find a house we liked in our general area, we had to create a "Plan B." But our kids (1st grader and heading into kindergarten) are young enough to adjust without too much trouble. Had they been several years older, it would have been much tougher.

Congrats, Goombah! And yeah, don't worry about the kiddies, they'll be just fine.

That's great Goombah. I really think your kids are young enough to not be affected by the school change. It's once they hit high school, that's I think I'd hesitate and/or worry if it's a bad idea.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully by the time we move, it will not be snowing. We had a neighbor move on Saturday - the night before we received a foot of snow. I would have felt more sorry for him had he not been doing a "short sale," which drives the value of everyone's home down.

An Arab ambassador in Dubai has had his marriage annulled after discovering that his bride, behind her veil, was bearded and cross-eyed.

The couple had only met a few times during their courtship. Each of these times the woman had worn a niqab, an Islamic veil that covers most of the face.

After the marriage contract was signed in Dubai, the ambassador tried to kiss his new wife. However, as he removed the veil, he was shocked at what he saw.

"He was absolutely horrified," a guest said. "The bride had a nice personality, but there was a good reason why she was hiding her looks behind a veil."

The unnamed ambassador went straight to court to annul the marriage, claiming his wife was "bearded and cross-eyed", leaving his wife in tears. The groom claims he had been shown pictures of the ugly bride's prettier sister.

BRUSSELS – The European Parliament on Thursday strongly rejected a deal that would have allowed U.S. authorities access to European bank transfers — a vote the United States said disrupted an important source of information for anti-terror investigators.

EU lawmakers in Strasbourg, France, voted 378-196 against the deal with 31 abstentions. The parliament's president, Jerzy Buzek, said the assembly wants more safeguards for civil liberties and believes human rights has been compromised in the name of security.

The U.S. mission to the EU said it was "disappointed" with the EU move, calling it "a setback for U.S.-EU counterterror cooperation." The vote came after lawmakers were contacted in recent days by several top U.S. officials — including Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner — "about the importance of this agreement to our mutual security."

European governments now must renegotiate the deal with the parliament, which would allow data sharing for nine months while the EU seeks a longer-term deal with the U.S.

The EU wants such an agreement to eventually let European authorities see U.S. banking information.

Hard times at Hooters

The Hooters restaurant chain is reportedly up for sale, desperate for cash as business has fizzled.

This is so random. Ok, let me try to explain since I am not good at fixing this kind of thing.

Ok, I have a small stereo/radio/CD/record player (all in one). Anyway, it has two speakers. You know how the wires attach from each speaker to the stereo base itself?? Anyway, one of my speakers doesn't work. If I hold and press the wire I hear sound. Naturally, I can't stand and press that wire all day. Ok, so my question is, what is the part called that I need and is it easily fixable? In other words, where do I go and what exactly to I ask for?

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Three people were killed and several more injured in a shooting Friday in a science building at the University of Alabama's Huntsville campus, university officials said.

A woman was in custody, but university spokesman Ray Garner said he could not identify her or the victims. Local television stations reported she is a faculty member.

Trent Willis, chief of staff for Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, said several other people had been shot in addition to the four Garner reported, but he did not have an exact number or their conditions.

Huntsville Hospital spokesman Burr Ingram said the hospital was treating three victims. Two were in critical condition and one was in stable condition. It was not clear if the three included the one injured person university officials announced.

I just saw that, Olivant. MSNBC is stating that local police claimed the woman suspect opened fire when she learned she wouldn't get tenure.

I'm assuming it's a big deal to get tenured huh? A woman shooter how rare is that?

Yeah, getting tenured is huge. Lifetime job security. Noted NYU scholar Lefty Ruggiero put it like this:

Check the terminal connections on the speaker and on the stereo base. Ensure that these are firmly attached.

Did this just start happening? Have you recently moved the stereo or disconnected it and connected it again?

If you can hear sound it's probably just a bad connection when you plug in the wire or wrap the wire.

It might be a bad receiver channel in which case it would depend on how expensive the unit was as to whether you wanted to replace it or not.
