OMG, that's awful, even more heart wrenching after just losing a child to cancer. So sorry. TIS

Nice idea for an ongoing thread Mig. This one is for me. My mental state of composure. A few months ago on a different topic I posted that my daughter was pregnant with twins.....and then it was one. Well, its twins. The story is long and complicated and my typing fingers will get tired, but in a nutshell, the doctors miscalculated. Baby B didn't "vanish", but staged a comeback and caught up to Baby A. We found this out in January. Now jump ahead to February 26. In a snow storm at 3am, my daughter's water broke...sorta. So they went to the hospital where she has been since then; still pregnant with twins. The doctors prescribe total bedrest in the hospital. She is 30 weeks pregnant, the babies are each a little over 3 lbs. and both heartbeats are strong. Baby B has less amniotic fluid, but they are both doing great and so is mamma. Occasional leakage and other little flinches and glitches. They want here to hang on to the babies as long as possible and at 34 weeks (if she makes it) they will do a cesaerean. Pray for me that I can last that long with psycho-wife. It's a stressful situation for all concerned. The waiting is a killer. Every little blip, jump, kick, contraction, etc. causes a rise in the anxiety level. Stay tuned.... and say a little prayer or "have a good thought" as they used to say on NYPD Blue.

My dear MC, I'm thrilled to learn that the twins are doing so well. I understand the need to get to Week 34 (the lungs), and I hope that your daughter and the babes hang in there. As for PsychoWife, I understand that, too. She and I just might be cut from the same cloth. Seriously, Of course I offer you the prayers that I have AND the good thoughts, too. This must be a very stressful time for your family (how's the papa-to-be doing?), so I will pray that God gives you all patience, strength, and courage and for the health of mama and babes.

MC, I wish your daughter and the babies and you and your wife well. I will pray for the best, but have a strong feeling all will turn out beautifully. If it means anything, I was only 3 lbs 4 oz. when I was born, and survived beautifully and that was centuries ago. Nowadays, with all modern knowledge, babies survive much much smaller than that. Please keep us posted. TIS

MC,

Stay tuned.... and say a little prayer or "have a good thought" as they used to say on NYPD Blue. Or to paraphrase what they used to say on "Hill Street Blues", to the twins, "Be careful in there." I hope the news remains positive and that you'll soon be bouncing two babies on your knees.

Nice thread, Mig. I'm praying for your family. And for MC's new addition(s) to the family, too. Also for our friend Fame, hopefully we'll get an update soon on his condition.
I have a prayer request of my own I'd like to make. This isn't easy to share, but I recently told the board about a friend of mine, a young lady, who's been a long-time family friend, and her battle with cancer. The prognosis isn't good, in fact, it's really bad. The doctors have decided that the chemotherapy treatments are not helping but very much hurting her overall condition, and they've decided to stop them as there's simply nothing more they can do for her. Her mother has chosen to take the ventilator out and let her die naturally.
I guess I just ask that you'll pray she passes as pain free as possible and for her 4 yr old son, whose care will now pass to the girl's mother and stepfather. She just turned 28 and this will obviously have devastating effects for her brother, mother, stepfather, and her many friends and family. I'd be lying if I said the whole affair hasn't caused me to reevaluate the way I live my own life. I just can't fathom that someone so young and beautiful can get cut down in the prime of their life...If I'm lucky I may live for 100 years, but in my mind she'll forever be that young girl with the big brown eyes and bright smile. I don't really know what else to say right now, but that it helps talking about it with you all.
Her name is Amanda.
Thanks and God Bless

I'm a grandpa! Twins arrived this morning via C-section - one boy (4 lbs.) and one girl (3 lbs-5 oz.). All three are doing well. The babies will be in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for 4 weeks. They are such cute and fragile little people. Keep up the prayers for their health and development. Thanks in advance. DOUBLE CONGRATULATIONS, MC!!! That's good news and I'm happy for all involved.
