One thing I think we can all agree on here is how inane the pundits on both sides really are. Two weeks ago they were writing the health care bill off, writing Obama off as weak and ineffective, all but guaranteeing a GOP majority in both houses in 2010, and saying how the teabaggers were going to have a seat at the table.

Now Obama walks on water (except on Fox) the GOP has overplayed its hand and the teabaggers are a fringe group of lunatics.

The truth was alsways somewhere in between what these people say, and more and more I don't think anyone should pay attention to them. Read the WSJ, NYT andthe Economist, and you get a realistic perspective from the left, the right and the middle without all the nonsense.

Amen to that, brother. The wingnuts on BOTH sides are the main reason that I've been thinking about registering as an Independent voter. Party politics have become FAR too extreme for my taste.

Ya'll are correct about the excessive language that has been thrown around regarding health care reform et al. That's why I encourage posters to read the health care bill or at least a reliable summary of its features.

That's horrible. The ass should be arrested for endangering the welfare of a child, assault with a deadly weapon, and anything and everything else they can throw at him. He put a child and her father at risk, and for what reason? He doesn't like the way the child's father voted. He's a menace, and should be taken off the streets.

If they track down any of these whack-jobs who are threatening members of Congress, or vandalizing their offices, because they don't like the way they voted on healthcare, they should throw the book at them. These people need to be made an example of.

That's awful!! My God, it's not safe to voice your political views these days without fear of being attacked. Horrible!

I was listening to CSPAN today, their call-in show. Their guest was lady who I guess was some kind of expert and/or authority on new health care laws.

Some woman called up very very angry and started yelling at this lady telling her that "she was not going to give up her doctor because she liked her health insurance." The woman let loose and then hung up. Well the guest/host clarified that nobody has to give up their insurance and commented about the mis-information. So much spin going around that nobody really understands this bill but rather than to find out, many believe everything they hear. ohwell

Vanderboegh, who lives in the Birmingham suburb of Pinson, described himself as a "Christian libertarian" and said he has long been a gun rights advocate. He said he joined a clandestine militia group called the "Sons of Liberty" and later became a public leader of the First Alabama Cavalry, Constitutional Militia.

Vanderboegh said he once worked as a warehouse manager but now lives on government disability checks. He said he receives $1,300 a month because of his congestive heart failure, diabetes and hypertension.

NEW ORLEANS - Federal prosecutors filed reduced charges Friday against conservative activist James O’Keefe and three others who were accused of trying to tamper with the phones in Sen. Mary Landrieu’s New Orleans office.

The new charges are contained in a bill of information, which can only be filed with a defendant’s consent and typically signals a plea deal. The new filing charges the four with entering a federal building under false pretenses, a misdemeanor. They had been arrested Jan. 25 on felony charges.

So, who wrote the law? Who passed it before it got to the president for signature? Do we have an overwhelmingly African-American Congress and Senate?? I didn't think so, but apparently we must because only a racist would go down the road.

It's possible that Doc Thompson is being sarcastic in his commentary...seeing as how many (including Alan Colmes whom I saw on O'Reilly Factor earlier this evening) seem to view any protest against Obama and his policies as based in 'racism'.

I doubt it, considering that he later said that he didn't believe that members of the Congressional Black Caucus have been cursed at and spit upon by actual racists. In spite of the fact that there is actual video of such action, he demanded that these members of Congress should take a lie detector test. He also said that he regularly broadcasts from Richmond, Virginia the "capital of the Confederacy".

My Mother-in-Law was telling me today that she read an article in her local paper that Obama is getting extra security. I couldn't find a link for it. If this is true why??

i believe it has something to do with the most controversial bill being passed, and every other congressmen (women)and senators who voted for the bill being threatened.
