My daughter is going to France on a school trip next month. Poor thing

My daughter went to France on a class trip when she was in high school, she was taking French as a second language. She said the elder Frenchmen were ogling them . Easier for you guys to get there. Do they take the train?

Wow, sounds like a great school trip! How long will she be there and how long of a trip is it to and from the UK?

(CNN) -- After 161 years of treating survivors of major catastrophes, from the sinking of the Titanic to the attacks of September 11, and leading early HIV treatments, New York's St. Vincent's Hospital closed Friday.

Faced with financial troubles and mounting debts, the historic hospital was forced to shutter its operations. By Friday, no patients were left, and about 3,500 employees were laid off.

thats just sad...it should at least be a museum or something (alot has gone through there).

When I was New York we rode past St. Vincent's. I knew it was closing, and just had a feeling of great sadness seeing it. Where are the patients who went there supposed to go now?

That sure rings a bell? I think I saw it too last time I was in NYC. NY has so many historic places, I can imagine the sentiment behind this hospital.

Official: Suspect in custody in NY car bomb attack

(CNN) -- The suspect in the failed Times Square car bombing is a Pakistani who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in April 2009 and had not been on national security radar.

Faisal Shahzad, 30, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was arrested Monday night at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York as his flight to Dubai was about to take off, law enforcement officials said.

Shahzad had traveled to Dubai before. He took a flight there in June 2009 and stayed out of the United States until his return on Feb. 3, officials said.

A woman who said she had lived next door to Shahzad in Shelton, Connecticut, told CNN on Tuesday that the man she knew didn't say much and claimed to work on Wall Street in New York.

"He was quiet. He would wear all black and jog at night. He said he didn't like the sunlight," Brenda Thurman said.
