In H.S. there was a fiiiine Borinquena. She was so fine that I had to muster up courage just to say "hello". She was 1 year older than me and in the "modern dance club", walking around school in her leotards all the time. I tried to talk to her, but she didn't seem interested.

Years later I bumped into an acquaintance of mine with that same girl on his arm. We talked and the guy went into a grocery store, and left us alone to talk. Long story short, she asked why I never asked her out. I asked her why she kind of “iced” me. She said that she was waiting to see if I really liked her. She looked at me sadly and said good-bye and they walked away. I ain't seen her since.

M/C...I can't agree more with what BK just said. In the 5th grade there was a girl in my class that I kinda liked, but was always afraid to ask out. Years later, in high school, when she went the "cool" route, and I went the studious route (even though I still played football and other sterotypically "cool" things), I caught wind that she might have had a thing for me back in the day. And now, she is the girlfriend of a major actor starring in a very major sitcom here in the U.S. And when I see her in People Magazine, I always wonder what would have happened if I had made a move on her back when I was 10.

What sitcom star, DC? Anyone that I or anyone here would know?
