Quick reaction: Is the Boss worthy of induction into the Hall of Fame? He'll have a Monument in the park, but I'm not certain of the history of owners getting into the HOF. But I'd vote for him!
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

I wasn't sure, so here's all you need to know about it (incl. a list): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monument_Park_(Yankee_Stadium)There are 5 Monuments (Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and Joe DiMaggio, and manager Miller Huggins -- I thought there were more!) and also 21 Plaques (incl. 1 Owner, and one for Billy Martin as Second baseman/Manager). So George should get a monument. And I hope Torre gets a plaque at least.

i would love to see this in person Me, too! We arrived at the Stadium about 1.5 hrs before the game, and the line for Monument Park was already closed because it was too long.

Just saw this quote from Raiders owner Al Davis. Makes me shake my head, but laugh at the same time.
"He was a friend and a warrior. We not only shared a birthday, but also an unyielding will to win and an unparalleled commitment to excellence. I judge sports figures based on individual achievement, team achievement and contributions to the game. George was right up there with me at No. 1 — bright, aggressive and, most of all, not afraid."
How Davis could talk about himself while "honoring" the death of Steinbrenner just boggles my mind. Funny thing is though, if it were Al Davis who died instead, Steinbrenner may have said the exact same thing.
