To me that one deli we went to in Jersey had good tongue.

That was my first time I was at a deli like that and I enjoyed it very much. Geoff kept saying "does anybody want to try my tongue" so I did and it was good. lol

Yeah, that I know... but I need to contact them to see where their stuff is sold around here. Obviously the frozen stuff isn't quite as good as the fresh stuff, but it's still better than anything else.

The closest store to you that I see which carries Pastosa is in Jackson New Jersey.

Anyone familiar with the Texas Roadhouse chain? Would you recommend them?

Haven't been at one in aout ten years, but from what I remember, it was pretty good. Not exactly unique, but I enjoyed it.

I just tried it and I'd agree with klydon's appraisal.

Somewhat disappointing... it's what I'd consider good chain food but that's about all. It's only 2 miles away from me so I was hoping I'd found a good place to visit regularly, but I'll keep looking.

Typical bar-b-que and steak items on the menu. The meat on ribs fell off the bone but probably because they were boiled too much. The portions were of average size and the price a little on the high side.

Yeah, that's the one. They opened about a year ago but this is the first time I tried it. A little further down, about a ½ mile from Eisenhower Park is Famous Dave's. That's a much better chain for this bar-b-que.

Many years ago, when I was still driving funerals, I'd be in that area constantly. For some reason, that area just breeds chain restaurants. Not that they're all bad, just predictable.

I played Eisenhower Park in August and remember driving by Texas Roadhouse. Next summer, I'll know enough to keep on driving .

You may wanna stop in and try the fried pickles.

Really.... It was the first time I ever tasted them. Kind of funny.

You should have stopped here, SC. I made my dry rub and Mr. Babe smoked ribs and a few pieces of chicken. I also made a barbecue sauce by adding ketchup, sherry and soy sauce to the dry rub. Very tender and delicious.

Sunday we had lamb shanks, spaghetti squash and Israeli cous cous. Delicious.

That's a true Mediterranean meal, DC. If you had some pita bread and a "Kojak" rerun on tv, you'd have a real Greek meal there .

I could go for a couple Nathan's hot dogs and some of their fries.

I love Nathan's hot dogs. They are heavenly.
