Next time, take the stairs!
London: Researchers have found that a typical elevator button harbours nearly 40 times as many germs as a public toilet seat. A study carried out in hotels, restaurants, banks, offices and airports found 313 ‘colony forming units’ of bacteria on every square centimetre of lift button.
The equivalent surface area of toilet seat had only eight units.
The bacteria on the lift buttons could include stomach bugs such as E.coli, the researchers say.
"In a busy building, a lift button can be touched by dozens of people who will have come into contact with all kinds of bacteria every hour,” the Daily Mail quoted Dr Nicholas Moon, from Microban Europe, which carried out the research for the University of Arizona in the US, as saying.
"Even if the buttons are cleaned regularly, the potential for the build up of bacteria is high," he added.

That is pretty disgusting. Who would even think of an elevator button? one little push and you get germs up the ying yang. What about all these bed bugs stories!! Now that's creepy too. TIS

It really is pretty sad isn't it? I am not too surprised at the East L.A. incident. I'm guessing they get those a lot since honestly, it's got that kind of reputation. Although, I don't know the details because I was half listening. I heard some mom was cheering her daughter as she was fighting another student at some sporting event. Damn!!!! What's going on these days??? TIS

My middle boy Andrew was threatened by his headmaster with being sent home from school yesterday. His crime? Having his hair spiked up with gel. We are not talking mohicans here, just spiked up on top with a bit of gel. My wife went over to have a word but was told it is new school policy. There are kids wandering around wearing all sorts of non uniform items, trainers on instead of shoes and the like and they are clamping down on spiky hair for 10 year olds....... This for a boy who has not missed a days school in 3 years either...... We are not over happy

However, anyone know if there is a difference between Tennis elbow and golf elbow???? I wonder if you can get "bowling" elbow. TIS

Leave it to SC!!! DT, that was just plain MEAN! BTW, I swear, the teams have a conspiracy! Both the Rays and the Yankees lost last night! Bastards! TIS, I don't golf, so have no idea how the hell this happened. I have started using an elliptical, but don't know if that would do it. And the difference between tennis elbow and golf elbow? Tennis elbow is on the outside of the arm, golf elbow is on the inside of the arm. I can't take any anti-inflammatory meds, so that will make the healing process a lot slower. I do have a lovely brace. Edit: And freaking Beth!

Somehow I knew you'd be the first to strike. Hurry up, Bethie -- the next line is: "Oh, spare me!"
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Geez you guys are good. I was still working on a "spare" smartass remark. I think you've covered all the bowling terms I know. Unless of course we could work some kind of joke about a "bowling shirt." Ha ha ha TIS
