We've had an exceptionally pleasant summer if you ask me. It's been in the 80's most of September. However, I heard this morning that by tomorrow it'll be 101. Just when you think you're out, they pull you back in.  September can still be a summer month here in CA but I don't expect many more 100 plus days, at least not in a row. TIS

We are back to triple digits (101 today and yesterday), but fortunately this time of year it cools down to the 50's/60's at night. I expect this heat trend will be short this time of year. TIS

Hey Goombah! How are you? It's been in the low 80's during the day and down into the 50's even at night. Can't complain. TIS Hi TIS! Doing well, just not online too often anymore. Been serving as the Dad Taxi Service to soccer games, swimming lessons, and the like. My son was freezing at his game on Saturday. It went from near 90 on Friday to about 60 over the weekend.

Holy crap!! I just heard that L.A. will be 113 today.  Since I'm inland, we'll surely be 5 or more degrees hotter I think. That's hot even for me. Ok, I'm going for my walk/run now while it's only what? 90? LOL TIS

I hope you're right SC. I just woke up, saw a news story headline and thought it was today. Whew!!!! I have to depend on someone from NY to tell me the weather in California. You all will think I'm totally nuts, BUT I didn't think it seemed that hot yesterday.  I did run my air for a short time (my place is small and cools quickly) but slept comfortably without it. What can I say I take the heat better than most. I suppose if I end up in Hell, it'll be a piece of cake. TIS Update: Only will get to 101 (in L.A.) today but expected to break and cool down considerably within the next couple days.

The National Weather Service has allowed tornado warnings for several counties in Michigan to expire, but more such alerts could come through this afternoon.
Tornado warnings had been issued for Livingston, Shiawasee, Monroe, Lenawee and Ingham counties.
Weather service meteorologist Matt Mosteiko said weather radar indicated a strong possibility of tornado activity, but there had been no reports of actual tornadoes as of 12:30 p.m. High winds were reported as high as 75 m.p.h. in parts of Michigan.
Mosteiko said the storm is heading to the northeast at about 55 m.p.h. and was likely to sweep into metro Detroit and the Thumb early this afternoon, he said.
As of 1:30 p.m., there were about 7,233 Consumers Energy customers without power in outstate Michigan, particularly in western and southwestern Michigan. Muskegon County had 1,600 outages and Jackson County about 1,240, said Terry DeDoes, spokesman for the Jackson-based utility.
The state is currently under a high-wind warning and will remain that way until 9 p.m. for a storm coming through called a Great Lakes cyclone, which could of be one of the strongest the region has seen.
