You know, I'll go with hungrier, but I usually disagree about the age factor, I don't think it matters as much as they say. If anything, I think the guys in their 30's have more experience and more to contribute than those in their 20's. And really, until 35 or so, people can still maintain the same shape if they work on it like they should.

Take a look at the Boston Celtics, for example from the NBA. Last year they almost won the champioship, but before the playoff started people said they wont even make it past the first round because they're too old. No one will make the same comment again now. They are clear favorites despite the age of certain players.

The Yankees didn't look too good tho, except Sabathia at times, and the Rangers were great. Tho if the Cubs arent playing, then I'm usually rooting for the NL teams, I guess it's my silly desire to see the old baseball on top.

That's very good, SC. It's a good thing that you're congratulating me. wink

Jeez, what a nailbiter. I wish all of us could watch this game with Blib and Kly!! Though I'm sure they wouldn't be crazy about the added tension. lol

I found an online radio station carrying the game.... I'm listening to it now. The tension must be pretty bad for both kly and Blib.

Who would you rather play?

Okay, MY nerves were bad there at the end...amazing game and series for both - both our GBB'ers should be proud! Congrats, Blib; should definitely be an awesome WS.

SC, I think I'd be afraid to face either - especially after this game! Though that's from an Astros standpoint, not the Rangers. haha Glad you got to hear the broadcast. Will you get it for the Series, too?

I was as tense as I've ever been watching a game! I'm feeling awesome right now!

Klyd, I feel for you as a friend. Nothing but respect for you and your team. But man this feels good!

Congrats to Blib!! Klyd, you have my sympathies. Screw ratings. This is an exciting World Series, and I for one can't wait to see it!

We missed the game last night. We saw Bernie Williams in concert. As the announcer said, at least ONE Yankee was playing last night. lol

In retrospect, I think this Series will be exciting -- these are two teams who actually play, and play well. I think I'll be rooting for the Giants...

congratulations Blib, sorry klyd ohwell I always thought the Phillies would come back and win the series but I just don't care as long as the Yankees lose and I watch good games so I'm loving this postseason. I admit I was rooting for extra innings though tongue

that double play in the bottom of the eight put me to sleep but what are your thoughts on Bochy bringing up Lincecum in that inning? it surely backfired on him but I agreed at first. you could spend Lincecum whole career trying to get him in shape to maybe one day play a World Series, and that was it, they were 6 outs from their dream so bring on the franchise player.

I pick the Giants to win it 4-2.

Just had this crazy pizza bet with some friends: if the Giants lose, I (and the others who picked them) will be paying for the pizza. If they win 4-0, 4-1, or 4-3, I'll be paying for the toppings only. If they win it 4-2, I got myself 4 slices with toppings for free.

Congratulations again, blibble. As I said on facebook, the Giants certainly deserved the pennant. This was probably the most pressure packed series I remember since the 1980 NLCS when the Phillies edged Houston in 5 games (it was best of 5 then), 4 of which went extra innings.

This series with the Giants was exciting from beginning to end. It was like watching a thriller where every scene was suspenseful. While the end result was disappointing for me, I'll take many good memories from the season.

Wow, Rangers and Giants. They sure fooled the "experts". Ironic how the sluggers from the Phillies and Yankees watched strike 3. Go Blib!

actually quite a few picked the rangers to win the AL, but nobody guess the giants to come out of the NL

Congrats Blibble. Glad to see some fresh blood do well in the postseason. A nice run by the Phillies - appearances in 3 consecutive NLCS and 2 of the past 3 WS.

None. We're crazy that way grin

They better win it 4-2 tho, I'm already deciding on my toppings...(onion and green olives for sure, gotta think about the rest)

I'm watching a replay of Game 6 of the 1985 World Series game between St. Louis and Kansas City. It's the 25th anniversary of this famous game, which is best known for a blown call in the bottom of the ninth that led to a KC victory. However, I remember it for another reason. It was during this game that I first told my then girlfriend (now wife) that I had fallen in love with her. All part of the magic of baseall.

Sorry Blib, the Giants are not far enough removed from Barry Bonds for me to root for them.

You don't have to root for them but that's a funny reason. This team is opposite in every way possible from the Bonds era.

Being a Yankee fan, I usually don't watch NL games. I've heard so much about Lincecum, but had no idea what he looked like until last week. He looks like he hasn't even started to shave yet!! And he's won the Cy Young already? He looks to young to have a Cy Young!! That's the way to build a championship team - get your talent and get it young.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Giants. A great pitching duel between Lincecum and Lee. I'm going with Lincecum. I think she'll throw a great game.

There hasn't bbeen a Game 7 in the WS since the last time the Giants were there. I'll pick this one to go 7, and while I'm rooting for the Giants, I think Texas will win.
