The ice maker in my fridge went last winter and I finally gave Sears a call a couple weeks ago. They talked me into an annual service contract for $270 enabling a years' worth of service at no charge (up to $500 per visit). I didn't know if that was a good deal or not -- and I NEVER buy service contracts for new items, but this fridge is 9 years old. He just came and replaced a couple circuit boards which would have cost me $281 without the contract, so I guess it's a good deal!

If it happened when the fridge was 10 yrs old, I wouldn't have been able to get the contract. But now that I have it, I can renew it every year no matter how old it is. So I guess I'm in good shape until I replace it. cool At $270/year, though, I might consider replacing it a year from now.

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol
