Dr. Laura Gets New Show on Sirius XM November 28, 2010 03:47 PM EST

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is getting a new, three-hour daily show on Sirius XM in January. Do you remember Dr. Laura quit her radio show after she tried to make a point by using the N-word in a rant. She was due to leave her radio show on December 31, 2010, but has signed a contract for a new show. In the wake of her N-word rant earlier this year, Schlessinger announced she would to start a new talk show in January.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Leslie Nielsen, who traded in his dramatic persona for inspired bumbling as a hapless doctor in "Airplane!" and the accident-prone detective Frank Drebin in "The Naked Gun" comedies, died on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was 84.

The Canadian-born actor died from complications from pneumonia at a hospital near his home at 5:34 p.m., surrounded by his wife, Barbaree, and friends, his agent John S. Kelly said in a statement.

On Mitch Albom's radio show yesterday he asked the co-host if he thought that Albom was fascinating. The co-host said he never used that word about other men. lol

Albom then went on a lengthy rant about Barbara Walters picking Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, the cast of Jersey Shore, LeBron James and Betty White among others as some of the most fascinating people of 2010.

Maybe not. Perhaps Pizzaboy is actually Betty White with a carefully created backstory as a NY City Italian-American 50 year old male.

Ain't that the truth?? lol

Right now I'm watching an excellent special on JFK's assassination on the Discovery Channel. It's called "The Kennedy Detail" and it's all about Kennedy's murder and his Secret Service Agents. The men are all speaking about their experiences that day. Wonderfully done, and fascinating.

Has anyone seen AMC's new series "The Walking Dead?" I am watching a few episodes on "On Demand" but they only have 3 episodes and I know I'm missing the first few at least. How exactly did these "Dead" come to be? confused

Hey TIS, This is a good show. To bad tomorrow's show is the last of the season. From what I gathered the people died from a disease. I might be wrong. And if the zombies bite you you turn into one.

DeNiro hosted SNL last night. That's the 3rd time or so that he's done so. If it were not for his persona he would be a complete flop as a host. In so many skits he appears to be just reading his lines off que cards and those skits are just plain unfunny. Of course, he was there to promote his new movie. That may explain alot.

Did anyone see Paul McCartney on SNL? He sounded pretty bad. His voice is definitely not what it used to be when he sings outside of the studio. Sometimes the band almost completely drowned him out.

I would blame that more on the SNL sound engineers, and I only say that because sometime back I saw a concert clip of his from the past summer, and he sounded ok. Or to put it another way, not as bad as the other night.

Then again, he's what pushing nearly 70? I guess it had to inevitably break.

RR,

Thanks for the heads-up. wink However, I missed it. Not to worry though, I found this link which I presume shows all.

Boy, he sang most of my favorite songs. "Day In The Life" being my favorite, but I agree, he did surely sound a bit "off". In his defense, I did read in another article about SNL having sound issues before. Still, being a fan, I'll cut him some slack. Nobody will sound the same forever will they?

And the Charles/Camilla skit (last one) pretty funny too. I'm still listening to the clips.

Thanks RR

Has anyone seen the new John Lennon documentary on PBS about his New York City years? I think it's called "Lennon NYC." I haven't seen it, but my brother called to tell me it was fantastic.
