The guy, who really has the pick of the litter of available coaching jobs in the NFL, is Bill Cowher.
Him and Tony Dungy definately, and I actually could see neither coming back ever to a NFL sideline. What I don't get is ESPN's insistence that if Jeff Fisher gets the boot at Tennessee, that there would be "a waiting line around the block" for his services. Bill and Tony, sure. But Jeff? More mind-boggling: Bengals re-signing Marvin Lewis.

No Harbaugh???? MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Jim Harbaugh is highly unlikely to accept the Michigan football coaching job if it becomes available, a person with direct knowledge of Harbaugh’s thinking told the Free Press. Harbaugh plans to decide this week whether he wants to take a job in the NFL. If he stays in college coaching, he has decided he will stay at Stanford, where he has built a potential powerhouse. It would take an extreme change of heart for Harbaugh to end up in Ann Arbor, according to the person, who did not want to be identified because Rich Rodriguez is still U-M’s coach............ Doesn't surprise me. This won't please some Big Blue fans, but Michigan as a job isn't better or worse than Stanford. I mean this isn't like Kelly going from Cincinnati to Notre Dame. The real question is, how well did new Denver Broncos Executive Vice President John Elway's pitch to Harbaugh earlier this week for the Broncos gig go?

The playoffs have not yet begun and the Steelers enter as the No. 2 seed in the AFC but the NFL already has declared them champions ... of merchandise sales. More Steelers merchandise was sold during the 2010 season than any other NFL team, according to NFLShop.com, which counted sales from April 1, 2010 through Jan. 2. Hoke ushers in new era of football at MichiganFormer U-M assistant builds tough defenses, known as strong recruiter Other names were bigger, other candidates more enticing to fans. Michigan's new football coach is Brady Hoke, and if you're puzzled, that's reasonable. Hoke doesn't possess the gaudiest record, but when he's introduced today at 1 p.m. by athletic director Dave Brandon, you'll begin to understand why he's here. He's here because he's been here before, he knows the terrain, and he's a good, solid coach who preaches defense and unity. Brandon got a "Michigan Man," as predicted, and while Hoke wasn't the most coveted one (that'd be Jim Harbaugh), or the most intriguing one (that'd be Les Miles), he was the one most eager to return and most driven to fit, at a time when Michigan needs stability more than ever. Hoke, 52, hasn't coached in a major conference and has a 47-50 career record at San Diego State and Ball State, and that will give people pause. Fine. They also should give him a chance. Brady Hoke gets the nod
"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives." Winter is Coming
Now this is the Law of the Jungle—as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die. As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

The government of Ireland wants to bring an NFL game to the county next season, and the Steelers would seem to be a natural because their owner, Dan Rooney, is the U.S. ambassador to Ireland. But talk of the game is coming from Ireland, not the Steelers. The game would be against the Arizona Cardinals and played in the same stadium where the Steelers and Chicago Bears played a preseason game in 1997. It would be in addition to the regular-season game the NFL plays annually in Wembley Stadium in London. Read more: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11029/1121551-66.stm#ixzz1CSA2EVRu

The Steelers have an international following. There is actually a strong following in Mexico and South America. South Korea has a large Steeler fan base because of Hines Ward.

Updated Feb 27, 2011 4:12 PM ET Baseball Hall of Famer Duke Snider died Sunday morning at the Valle Vista Convalescent Hospital in Escondido, Calif.. He was 84. Snider died of natural causes, his family said.
He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., in 1980 after an 18-year major league career in which he hit 407 home runs. OMG ... this is VERY sad news for me. Duke was my favorite all-time ballplayer.
