I'll take that as a "disagree" Vinny. I'm trying to think of what I've seen Kutcher in besides The 70's show. I saw "What Happens In Vegas." That wasn't bad. Other than that I don't know. I know he's popular with the ladies. My daughter thinks he's "hot." We'll see. Btw, the comment (from the link posted) below by Chuck Lorre. Are we to assume that the character of Charlie is gone and Kutcher will be "introduced" as someone else???? I never was clear if they wanted another Charlie Harper or a totally new character. Chuck Lorre has crafted a storyline to introduce Kutcher in a way that satisfies the network and studio. “It’s really funny,” TIS BTW, Vinny, I don't really know who Mos Def is (a rapper I presume) but I did like 16 blocks.

Honestly, I'd rather have Charlie Sheen back than seeing Ashton there. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I say we boycott Warner Bros for the rest of our lives.
TIS...Yes Mos Def is a rapper, but he's also an actor and he played the guy Bruce Willis was protecting. Even though I found him extremely annoying, I did like 16 Blocks also.

They did a poll on TMZ where they asked if people wanted Ashton and only 51% said they did. So half the world hates him. I dunno what to think. Channel 11 here in New York just said it's pretty much a done deal. They had a rumor monger from Hollywood on and he said---and I hope this isn't true because it's horrible---that Lorre is still so angry with Sheen that he's contemplating killing the character off in an embarrassing Charlie Sheen-like fashion. Like a drug overdose or a hooker induced heart attack, with lots of references to "winning" and other Sheen-isms. Either way, that first episode will be highly anticipated. After that, I dunno. I like Cryer a lot, so I hope it works out for the short term.

Ashton Kutcher Will Make Less Than Charlie Sheen By The Blemish Charlie Sheen earned a base pay of $1.25 million an episode for Two and a Half Men which ballooned to $2 million after factoring in profit and participation but he threw it all away because he’s a big f**k-up. Now his job goes to Ashton Kutcher, who will not be playing Charlie Harper, by the way. This works out for CBS in two ways. First, Ashton will bring in a younger demographic (read: people under the age of 50). Second, they get to pay this guy much less. Relatively. Reportedly between $625,000 and $900,000. Sure, less than Charlie Sheen, but he’s still being overpaid. For people like Ashton, I always like to start my negotiations at the low end. Usually I offer them a Twinkie and go from there. The interesting part is how they’ll write Ashton in and Charlie out. Based on the amount of animosity between show creator Chuck Lorre and Sheen, I expect Charlie’s character to be killed in a fiery car crash that only happened because he was masturbating while driving past an elementary school. Ashton will be the hero who discovers Charlie’s hidden stash of kiddie porn. And how lucky is Ashton? By dumb luck he just landed a starring role in the number one comedy on TV. The only way his life could get any better is if Demi Moore made friends with Scarlett Johansson and they both blew him. At the same time. That's one way to write him out .

I'm really kind of indifferent to Kutcher (I neither like or dislike him for the most part). He might be a good choice because like him or not, he does have a following, he is younger and if he is to be a ladie's man that's a plus I guess. Plus he's in his genre with comedy. That being said, Sheen did make the show if you ask me (yes, even with Cryer as a co-star) and Ashton has to really impress for it to last more than one more season. I read yesterday that he is NOT going to take of the Charlie Harper character, although I imagine it won't be hard to have a long lost cousin show up or something. TIS

Well, Charlie Sheen has commented on Kutcher getting the lead in Men. LMAO It's getting where we aren't surprised by anything he says/does. "Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer ... Oh wait, so am I!" the whacked-out warlock tells TMZ, making a backhanded dig at the 33-year-old actor. If he plays a completely different type of character, I'd check it out. But if he's just going to do Charlie Harper all over again, probably not. That was just about played out before this blow up anyway. How many times could you go down that same road....

To follow up with Bam's post, it does indeed sound like they will kill off Charlie with his funeral in the opening episode. Surprises me for some reason, but I'm guessing they'll make it very funny. "Sheen's Charlie Harper will be killed off ... and now, according to Deadline.com, Harper's funeral will take place at the beginning of the September 19 show. The episode will reportedly open with a memorial service attended by Harper's many girlfriends. Charlie's beach pad -- the home he shares with Alan and Jake -- will then go up for sale and real-life celebs are all potential buyers. According to the report, Ashton Kutcher's character will likely buy the house and somehow Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones stay in the picture."
