In Italy there seems to be trend towards much younger recruits. Google names like Gianni Nicchi & Giovanni Strangio to learn about some younger guys that played a failry large role in their respective organizations, especially Nicchi, who in his early twenties was selected to represent the Palermo clans in New York in meetings which led to the indictments unveiled in Operation Old Bridge in 08.

Ligambi was definitely made later in his life, having proved himself by serving part of a life sentance for the Frankie Flowers hit before having his conviction overturned.
