I live in Gateshead; between Gateshead and Newcastle is the River Tyne. So our region is called Tyneside. The bridge in the tattoo is the Tyne Bridge (built as a dress rehearsal by the same company who did the Sydney Harbour Bridge). Inhabitants of the area are called Geordies (its origins something to do with King George, I think). Hence Geordieland.

The most passionate soccer fanbase in the world. Or one of them.

I had a hamster my first year of college. It's name was Jon Nightmonster because it hid and slept all day, but made so much damn noise at night. I'm usually awake until lATE into the night, but when I'm ready for bed I hate ANY noise. He used to run on his wheel all night long. He kept trying to escape and rip his cage apart and make a damn mess, so I renamed him the Hamsterman of Alcatraz. We used to scream at each other all the time. Mostly me yelling at him, but he did his fair share of loud squeaking at me too.

Eventually the Hamsterman hated me so much and after biting me all the damn time, I decided he needed to be free. I fed him a huge Hamster Feast and took him out to the woods and watched him leave. I set him down and he just looked at me and ran. I know he probably died soon after, but if I didn't let him go I might have smashed him with a hammer or tossed him out the window. We both were on our last nerves with each other.

Moral of the story: Hamsters are loud and noisy and hate me.

Nice pictures Mick. I can't wait until the summer because yesterday I have just taken my Ska and Reggae CD's out of my car because it simply isn't the weather for it.

Oh he's loud as hell.. in fact, he's running on his wheel as we speak. Usually I'm a pretty light sleeper.. but I think I've built up an immunity to the wheel turning already. He woke me up the first night.. but not last night. Hopefully I won't have to take him to the woods or anything like that.

C'mon, tell the truth. You got the hamster to keep your roommate up.

The only hamster I have left is mean and he bites. He's been livin there for a while now ( the other ones died, even though they were nice cute and didn't bite ). I used to have 3 of them, but one had a tumor and so died, and the other one died of a heart attack. The one left is mean and bites.

Moral of the story : bad hamsters live long.
