Does the show have more Italian mafia elements?

The mafia element features in all seasons but becomes more involved later on. The Irish Caffee/Cork crew of Brotherhood has always operated independant but "below" the Italians in the series, and for the most part respect a truce of sorts (which does however enrage Mike Caffee, the crazy Irish bastard who cant understand why his five or six man crew couldn't stand up to Nazolli and the whole RI mob)

Jason Isaacs does a great turn as Mike. And his brother Tommy is played by Australian actor Jason Clarke, in another great role. Im not 100% Nicky but I think Clarke is from Perth as well.

Its different from Soprano's, but a great series. Its problem was never critical response; its almost universally praised, its just never picked up those Nielsen Ratings.
