Hey guys, I'm 1 and fucking 5 and I don't play injured people and people on bye weeks.

This week I am benefiting from it but goddamn it, I want to limp to victory over your best shot each week, not destroy a bye week/injury filled team.

Speaking of limps, Earnest Graham is this week's victim in LN'S Injured Player(s) of the Week Contest! Congratulations!

How Bout that Timbo Tebow? It was hard to bench the greatest QB in history since Peyton Manning but in the name of Victory and Fullback Playing Quarterback Who Scores Lots of Fantasy Points Somehow, I chose Tebow.

Nice to see that Drew Brees came back from a few subpar (for him)performances. Now all I need is a nice defensive stand from Baltimore tonight.

George Martin is a Jets fan. Dunno if he's in any fantasy leagues.. rolleyes

Quote:
Now THOSE were the Jets I've been looking for all season.

Good solid win over a strong San Diego team today. The Chargers won the first half and enjoyed a halftime lead, but in the second half the Jets D stepped up, shut down the San Diego offense, and intercepted Philip Rivers twice in the 4th quarter to seal the win. (And what the hell was Rivers thinking with the fourth down throw with eleven second left? Game's over if he throws it out of bounds. So he throws it out of bounds. Hokay. Rivers has a great arm, but sometimes you have to wonder about his head).

Another great game by Darrell Revis, and the Jets O finally got in gear as well. Plax! Plax!! Plax!!!

The projections and "fantasy experts" are a joke. I could give you advice for $9.99 a minute, but that's a friend price, because really, my advice is priceless.

And I'll update the median things and tally up everyone's W-L vs the median (which should be interesting to see how it matches up against the real W-L records at least) as soon as I can get on my wife's computer with excel.

Shit happens when you average 1 starting player on IR a week along with the ones who just get injured for a game or 2... I've got last year's championship to console me though.

Just what it says.

TEAMS VS MEDIAN:
TOTAL
WINS-LOSSES-TIES

Kind of how your team would do vs. an average team each week in the W-L column and the other one is how you compare to the median each week all added up together.

Who is "The Canes"? Also "Satan's Soldier's" who I faced two weeks ago? Both teams have no replacements for one of their players on bye.

I'll take an easy victory, but it doesn't seem right to the rest of the league who is putting in the effort to have a full roster each week.

This has always been a good league, but some people don't seem to be trying to win this year, or at least giving it their all even if their record looks bad. Fight to the finish people.

"The Canes" is my 15-y.o. nephew tongue Six (really 8) of his players were on Bye this week, and he apparently didn't have any RB's available. It's his first year in this league, but he does take it seriously. He's a sports nut! But sometimes you have to suck one up when your projected stats are 50+ points back, so why drop 1 good player on Bye for some shitty player who won't get 50+ points. wink

Satans Soldiers, on the other hand, is an inexcusable DNP. ohwell

It's also inexcusable that my TE was a "surprise inactive" that I couldn't replace at the last minute. rolleyes

Heh, ok then I guess I lucked out and picked the best time to face his team tongue That's understandable.

EDIT: Although I shouldn't say that. There's still a chance I could lose to his entire team of backups panic

JG, tell your nephew he gave me a heart attack tonight. Impressive score for so many of his players on bye. I was lucky to win.

Read the commissioner's note... clap clap clap clap

Because if there were less teams I'd be ranked better than 15th.

Just in case anyone didn't see the commissioner's note, here it is.

"(Warning: The message below is more heavy-handed than usual.)

Eight weeks into this, I've formed an opinion on having 16 teams this year and without doubt, it stinks. The waiver wire stinks, the quality of teams stinks, everything stinks. There aren't very many moves to make because there just aren't many options. We will not be going to 16 teams again. I asked people to bow out earlier this year if they weren't going to play the entire year, no matter where they were in the standings. I understand if it's a one-time occurrence, but I see some who are habitual missers. I haven't received any notes why some are failing to manage their teams so I can only conclude that they don't care. They will not be invited back.

Thank you."

clap

I don't think it's the #16 (altho that is quite a bit, I admit)... I think it's the lack of management in just a couple of those teams. For whatever reason -- sometimes real life gets involved. It's unfortunate, but happens. (And no, I certainly hope I'm not one of them lol). Nor is our newest member (my nephew) who's doing better than I am.

DNP's are no good here, I agree.

Perhaps just shorten the benches a bit?

The Purple Gang doesn't mind if we roll up on people and catch them slipping. lol
But when you have to hope that Hartline or Baldwin has a monster game b/c the good talent is locked up that'll ruin your day.. rolleyes

I like the bench size, in fact there used to be a few IR spots for people that were injured and I liked that because then I could have even more players on my roster. I filled it up all the time, like having a waiting list of players too. Probably why we don't have it anymore.

Heyward-Bey in the last 4 games: 15,22,14,13. Today: 0.

Salas was great with his 12 points and then he got carted off the field. Sigh.

Faulk was ruled out after the Noon games started so I had to use Starks instead of Gaffney.

At least I had a respectable week. Not a chance in hell of winning though.

If you mean fewer bench positions, then HELL NO! I had to scramble for a TE after my starter was Out and my backup on Bye. Got 1 whole point from the FA pool, and had to remove a bench player for that 1 point. ohwell

I WAS pretty close to beating the #1 team, but it'd take a miracle tomorrow. In any event, the bench is your lifeblood and what makes your team a winner or a loser after the draft.

Edit: Of course, Aaron Rodgers on your opposing team apparently makes you a loser, regardless. ohwell

If we had smaller number of bench positions there would be much higher number of free agents. So folks would be able to get better players. Also there would be a premium on knowing which players to play for a given game. This would be magnified with fewer teams of course but all in all I think it would make things more competitive. Right now if a person doesn't schedule their players they can have a huge impact on other teams because of the long benches. Give it up or turn it loose I say. lol

Winter is Coming

Now this is the Law of the Jungle—as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

I'd rather lose a starting WR slot than a bench spot. Some genius, I can't remember who... whistle suggested that before the season.

Rushin Mafia players on IR as of Week 9:
Peyton Manning
Jamaal Charles
Danny Amendola
Kerry Collins
Chad Henne
Earnest Graham
Greg Salas

7! Plus people who just get injured for a game or 4... And every one of those players was the starter at the time of their injury except Kerry Collins.

And I still outscored most of you punks.

And if Maclin has a 40 point day maybe I can squeak out a win against The Commish.

Lost by 10 freakin' points -- the difference between Pittsburgh's projected (16) and actual (6) points. Not to mention Robert Meachem's big fat Zero. rolleyes

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Look at that, already leading JL by a wide margin!

Come on...this is supposed to be rivalry week. What happened to this league?
