How can it be 7 years already??

Hope Plaw's still kicking butt in Fantasy Sports up in Heaven. Still, and always, will be missed!

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

I never frequented the Fantasy Sport sections, but I wish he was still here, kicking butt in the general discussion threads. Wow, seven years without Paul here, and there's not a day that I visit here, read something and wouldn't wish he would pop up and give his opinion on some issues here. I miss him so so much.

I remember visiting him in the hospital that September. He was very happy to hear that all the ladies were asking for him, especially you, Afs.

He was a good friend, a funny and dear man. It's amazing how someone, no matter how briefly, can have such a profound and lasting impact on your life that way.

His favorite thing was to sign into Windows Messenger when I was doing homework with the girls at the kitchen table so he could try and solve their math problems before they could. He also loved what we termed the stupid assignments, like naming five countries that begin with the letter Z.

The first time that we turned on the computer to do homework after his death, I'm not sure who missed him more - me or the girls.

A couple of memories of Paul:

--He and I went round and round over a bit of GF trivia: I claimed that Rocco Lampone was sitting with Michael, Sonny, Tess and Clem when they were eating Chinese food and planning the hits on McCluskey and Solozzo. He said it wasn't Rocco. We went through that scene on the DVD, frame by frame, but Paul was unconvinced.

--He always said he wanted to drink a vintage Bordeaux: Chateau Latour. I brought a bottle of Chateau Latour 1966 from my collection to our last GF Italian dinner together. I'm glad he wasn't too ill to enjoy it.

I remember both, TB - the debate and the wine.

Funny, I was thinking of Paul tonight. We drove my daughter back to school via the Lincoln Tunnel. Paul was always trying to push Seacaucus over staying in the city, citing how close it was and how relatively inexpensive it was vs. staying in Manhattan.

Oh, made me teary eyed. I hadn't read (or remember specifically) that post in a long time. I can't believe it's been 8 years.

Paul would OFTEN say how the friends he made here were every bit a friend as those off the internet. Glad I had the pleasure of meeting him. smile

8 years today, now... this board hasn't been the same since, and probably never will return to those days at this point. He was such a huge part of it -- more than even I am, probably! So missed! frown

Just realized that my brother and Plaw died on the same day (8 years apart).

Two great guys, taken far too soon.

I miss them both.

10 Years eek

It is unbelievable how time flies, whether you're having fun or not. It sure doesn't seem that long ago -- being talked into trading him Lebron in fantasy basketball, losing to him in most games lol, reading his in-depth GBB stories and arguments, perusing his conspiracy theory book collection, hitting Nets games, noshing on fried zucchini strings in NYC, him giving the world's worst driving directions (pre-GPS)... I sure miss all of it! God bless ya, Plaw! RIP

I keep saying, "every day another week goes by" and it's becoming even faster than that. Wow.

I miss a bunch of folks from the Good Ol' Days (here and otherwise), and it only confirms that we need to live while we can (to the best we can) and not to take every little thing so seriously (despite the polite arguing and ribbing with Plaw on a few topics ;))

I had only been around for a few months when he passed. I hope people won't be offended, but this seemed a comparatively rough place for newbies in that day, and plawrence was always in good humor, always a gentleman.

Someday I hope to get my omnibus argument for why there are six New York families in the novel posted, and I hope he'll approve.

I too can't believe how the time has passed. It DOES seem like yesterday. I can imagine what his political input would be these days. lol He was a knowledgeable and informed guy that loved being here on the BB.

I was fortunate enough to actually meet him once on my first trip to NYC. We ate at Carmines (remember guys?). smile He also called during one of our meets cause he was too ill to make the trip(Philly?) and several of us passed the phone around to speak with him. He heart was with us.

I remember him once posting how he considered his on-line friends on the BB to be just as important as the friends he has/sees regularly.

A great guy. RIP PLaw. frown
