RISE OF THE APES should win the VFX Oscar. That was decent fun popcorn escape fare.
EDIT - Hugo wins again. I thought Apes got bad reviews? I never saw it but thought it looked pretty good though. TIS

I thought Apes got bad reviews? I never saw it but thought it looked pretty good though. TIS It got good reviews. Decent derivative of classic 50s sci-fi scientists-gone-amok and monster movies, (and the granddaddy of them all, FRAKENSTEIN.) EDIT - that guy from SOUND OF MUSIC wins the Oscar. Don't hurt me Chris!

I was kind of rooting for Max Van Sydow but it's nice for Plummer. He's been around forever. Why does he not like the association with Sound of Music though? TIS

she was in the fighter with marky mark (mark wahlberg) She was Mark 9/11 Hero Wahlberg' mother in THE FIGHTER, won the Supporting Actress Oscar from last year. EDIT - Seeing Plummer up there, I remember that Richard Burton never won an Oscar. Now that was a crime. Burton really was a good actor. In my sophomore year of high school our entire class went to the movie theater downtown to see him in Hamlet. Lol That memory just flashed when you mentioned Burton for some reason. TIS

Oh, no... the upcoming IN MEMORIAM section always tests my typing skills too much... *gulp*
Geoff, do you plan to type every single name? You're really gonna spoil us. Next you know we'll be asking you to type the winners acceptance speeches as they are given. TIS

I would crack a joke that nobody wants to see that goddamn Big Boat movie again in theatres, especially in 3-D. Why does everyone rag on Titanic all the time? I actually enjoyed it.

Geoff, do you plan to type every single name? I always did! No one appreciates me Oh, poor thing. You don't have to type all the names. You are too nice to we who are so unappreciative. We love you!!!! Now, get those fingers flying across the keyboard. TIS

think about how much money the original trilogy would have made.
When they do hit theatres in 3-D, they're going to make good money. Forget the prequels. Best Score - I believe John Williams got nominated twice. I won't be able to compose myself when that musical god passes.

I like The Titantic also. Don't know if I'll see it again at the theater 3D or not, but I like the movie. TIS My mocking and proding aside, I'll give TITANIC this: It's the sort of production that has to be seen on the big screen. DVD does it no justice. PHANTOM MENACE on the other hand, that new 3-D print is only good for wiping your ass with. Why does everyone rag on Titanic all the time? I actually enjoyed it. Everything popular (specifically very popular) gets quickly overrated, and backlash quickly forms. Fact of movie life.
