RR, Regarding Kirk Cameron. I am not surprised because I've seen he has several religious/inspirational type movies on cable's TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network I believe it's called). If I hadn't noticed that, I'd be surprised as well. TIS

J.R. was an all time bad guy. I loved the show; and that's saying something, because everyone here knows how I feel about the State of Texas . Yes PB, you are on our list.

Channing Tatum tries to be leading man The article touches on something interesting but doesn't go into detail. It does seem as if many of the up and coming American stars lack a certain roughness, a certain masculinity, a certain individual style. When you ask industry veterans why it has been so difficult for Hollywood to turn out a new crop of megawatt male stars, the fast answer usually involves the state of movies. Stars like Matt Damon, Russell Crowe and Tom Hanks came up in medium-size dramas and comedies that let them build a fan base, the kinds of movies Hollywood has all but abandoned as it pursues bloated special-effects extravaganzas that play increasingly to an overseas audience. Actors, even good ones, get swallowed by that machinery or have trouble delivering a memorable performance because they are acting against little more than a green screen.
Then there is what Jeanine Basinger, the chairwoman of the film studies department at Wesleyan University, describes as the “pretty boy problem.” In the studio system heyday leading men were distinctive, she noted, pointing to Gable, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart and Jimmy Stewart. The last generation of A-listers includes quirkier types like Mr. DiCaprio, Mr. Depp and Robert Downey Jr.
"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives." Winter is Coming
Now this is the Law of the Jungle—as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die. As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

Talk about "spoilers." This is really random since I am the only one here who watches "Desperate Housewives" Sunday night. Nicolette Sheridan (a former cast member) is suing producer of the show for she claims, slapping her and unfairly firing her. The trial is over and jury in deliberations now with verdict due any time. James Denton who played Mike Delfino (husband to one of the housewives) testified in the producers defense as did other cast members as I understand. ANYWAY, in the course of the trial it was let out that a major character was going to die on the show very next episode (yesterday) and they were forced, I guess to say which one. What a spoiler. So, last night we said goodbye to to Mike Delfino (James Denton). They said a couple jurors who watched the show "gasped" at the news, and the lawyer asked (jokingly ?) for a gag order which the judge said he "couldn't do." TIS

I just surfed by a 1971 rerun of hte Partridge Family. Low and behold, who did I see in the episode? Richard Pryor and Richard Roundtree. I don't know if it was Roundtree before or after Shaft, but he looked a little different.
Far out, man! It's actually Pryor and Louis Gossett, Jr. It's a strange though not awful episode. I've always assumed it was planned to be a pilot for a show that didn't get made.

TIS Hey TIS, me and the GF watch DH, have done since season 1, i didn't knew that Mike is being killed off.I think it's a good thing that they are ending the show as it's getting a bit tedious now..

Hey DeNiro, all this time and I didn't know you watched. Btw that's why I miss the first showing of "Walking Dead" (it's on the same time), and try to watch the 11:00 showing or "On Demand." As far as Delfino character. It was just two days before last night's episode, that this came out via the trial. My daughter and I are still mourning the loss of the hottest DH character, this morning. For some reason, I am NOT getting sick of it. Their storylines are always different and enjoyable. BTW, I am wondering if it'll end with all the Housewives "on their own." Carlos is going a little nutty and MAY be going to jail (tho I think he was justified in that whole murder thing). TIS

I am a DH fan, too! (Mostly because of Eva Langoria, ha!) Seriously, been watching since day 1. Sorry to see a good guy like Mike go away. I hope they catch the wiseguy who popped him. It looks like a few of them may be off to the big house! Murder, obstruction of justice, disposal of a body... if they were smart, blame it all on Mike Delfino! Well why didn't you say so? I posted a couple years ago at least and it seemed there were no others that watched. LOL I depended on my daughters every week to discuss episodes. I love the weird storylines don't you? One of the weirdest story line from some years back, cracks me up. Remember the family (I believe with Alfre Woodard) who hid the boy "Kaleb" in the basement? Funny lines: Gabby (Eva) yelling at Carlos for giving away money at his company.."You make the money. I spend it. I'm holding up my end of the bargain." That being said, I told my daughter that "maybe" it'll end with Gabby & Carlos splitting, and all the housewives alone. TIS

No sense in starting a DH thread now right?? Anyway, I never ever liked Orson and am glad he's gone. That being said, I am wondering if Carlos will be arrested for murdering (although justifiably IMHO) that guy and like I indicated above, the Housewives will be on their own? What do you think? And DID Orson really kill himself? TIS
