One interesting point, it's almost impossible to see deleted scenes from that film. The director won't release them because he feels that if they were any good to begin with, he would have left them in. That's right, Babe. The final scene was shot in close-up and long range. They obviously decided to go with the long range shot of Andy and Red reuniting on the beach, but Frank Darabont has said over the years that he'll eventually release the close-up ending as an extra on an annivesary edition of the dvd/blue-ray. But I'm not holding my breath. I'd really LOVE to see it, though. The novella's ending was more ambiguous, but this is one instance where the film's ending worked better with an improvisation by the director.

Yesterday, TCM showed Clash of the Titans with Harry Hamlin from 1981. My wife and I walked out on that movie, the only time we've ever donethat. So, what makes that movie a classic? The fact that you walked out on it. I had seen that on video shortly after the movie's theatrical run and I was highly impressed by it. To each, his own, I guess. Highly impressed by it? And yet you complain about GFIII? Madonne!

I just surfed by a 1971 rerun of hte Partridge Family. Low and behold, who did I see in the episode? Richard Pryor and Richard Roundtree. I don't know if it was Roundtree before or after Shaft, but he looked a little different.
Far out, man! It's actually Pryor and Louis Gossett, Jr. It's a strange though not awful episode. I've always assumed it was planned to be a pilot for a show that didn't get made. Are you sure about Gossett? It looked alot like Roundtree.

Yes. Gossett with a full head of hair just doesn't look right.

Yes. Gossett with a full head of hair just doesn't look right. Yeah, I looked it up. You're right. Would have sworn it was Roundtree.

I'm not sure of the relationship between Fox and Fox 5, which is a local station here in NY, but the morning anchor on Fox 5 is a brunette named Roseanna Scotto. Channel 5 (Fox 5) is an affiliate of Fox News. Roseanna Scotto is a daughter of former Gambino Family bigshot Anthony Scotto.

I missed Mad Men last night and am waiting for it to come to "On Demand". I wasn't gonna watch it cause it's annoying how long between last season and this. I do like the show and will and admit I am tempted to tune in. Plus RR said the Paul McCartney may make an appearance sometime this season. What can I say? I'm in. TIS Actually I must correct myself: It later was revealed that Paul won't appear in Mad Men. (The report mix-up came from one of his songs being featured sometime this season, not an appearance. Sorry TIS.) Aw, too bad. It would have been "workable" to get any Beatle to fit into that era. That's ok though. I see it will re-air tonight at 9:00 p.m. (PDT) so I'll be able to catch it. TIS
