I don't know what to do tonight... go out with: boyfriend? (We've been back together for a month, btw... I think I forgot to tell those of you who would care.) Friends? Cousins and boyfriend? Or shall I just blow everyone off and stay home alone and veg and watch movies? Such a tough decision. I think I'm gonna go out with cousins and boyfriend, but I prefer blowing everyone off and staying home alone. Does that ever happen to you guys? Happens to me a lot. I think that makes me boring. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.thegodfathertrilogy.net/emoticons/sleep.gif) Anyway, have a safe and fun Friday night, everyone. Most of you are halfway through it already, but it's only 7:40 here.

I'm sleepy enough to go to bed right now, at 9:40 here, so my advice is to veg out, but I suppose that's a bit biased considering my state... Really, I'm like that sometimes. I'd just rather come home Friday and watch TV if a game's on, or post on here, or just lay around instead of going out with friends, so either you're normal or we're both boring. But if you've got a boyfriend, cousins, and friends all available to go out somewhere, take advantage.

Listen to this: Last night at the restaurant (I'm a cook), the bus boys were going outside to start on the afterjobs they gotta do every night (spray and scrub trash cans, carts, spray off all the floor mats), and they went to turn on the hot water for the hose. Well the temperature hasn't climbed over 20º in the past 3 weeks, so the pipes tend to freeze. Well, when they finally got the pipes warm enough to pump water, the fricken' hot water pipes bursted! So we got hot water going all over the place, and nothing to contain it. So my partner Phil (the other cook) went in there and rigged something up to keep the water leakage to a minimum until the water guy got there. We had to turn the hot water completely off in the entire restaurant, and we didn't have any hot water back for 2 hours. The dish guys couldn't wash a single dish until it was back on. So once it got fixed, the managers took over cook line, and us cooks had to go back and wash the f*ckin' dishes with the dish guys.

I can make a mean bowl of cereal.. and sometimes my toast just comes out perfect... But seriously, the only real dish I can make is speghetti. I use my mom's recipe.. (which is my 100% Italian grandma's recipe) and its amaaaazzinggg. All homemade - except for the noodles.

My dad is the best cook I know. I became a cook at the restaurant I work at because of him. I love my country food, and that's what he cooks the best. If I were to rank my favorite types of foods, it was go something like this: 1) Country cooking 2) Italian 3) Mexican 4) Greek 5) Persian 6) American My dad taught me how to make Texas fried steak when I was 12 years old. Cook up some mashed potatoes and country gravy, and some wilted lettuce salad, and I'll be hurtin' for a week.

Yay!! A food discussion!! I love cooking... I make a mean tomato-vodka sauce, which I put on penne pasta with shrimp and broccoli... I make filet mignon with brandy cream sauce... I make this great chicken with cream sauce, Brie, and mushrooms... Salmon with white wine, butter, and lemon... Mmmm my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Besides that, I can make basic Italian stuff... pretty much any sauce for pasta is easy enough (with chicken or meat, or whatever), and then lasagna, manicotti, etc. Anyway, all my friends make fun of me because if you look at me, it looks like all I can make is a MEAN set of reservations. Like I don't have one domestic bone in my body. Don Corleone, believe it or not, I've never had country cooking. Born and raised, 20 years, in the U.S. of A., and I've never had country anything. Correction... I've had Cherry Cobbler. That's country, right? Anyway, it sounds good, but it's really heavy food, right?

Mmmm All of that sounds great Zia. Don't know about vodka in my sauce tho??? Then again there's a restaurant here that serves Jack Daniels Steak and it's great. I like to cook. I enjoy cooking meals more than desserts, and of course Italian is my favorite. However, I wish I knew how to make more dishes. It took me some years to get my tomato sauce to a point where I think I finally got it. Speaking of Pasta noodles. I remember some years back my grandmother/mother/aunts making noodles from scratch. It was a big deal. Like a holiday. My sister and I and some of the other cousins would be in charge of curling the noodle with a strawlike utensil, each noodle individually. Took all day to make, but it did taste great. TIS
