Geez, could have been one I saw when I was in school. Such a "production" (of sorts). And, from Disney no less.

Okay, I'm sorry - I can't help it. This one is waayy too easy. Here it goes... the Disney Princess for this feature was named Flo or Scarlette. I know - I'm terrible.

Mrs Meatballs lined up the Nic Cage and Nicole Kidman flick Trespass last night. Checking out the sypnosis and reviews and stuff, I noticed it did...abysmally. A budget of $35 million, only brought in $25,000. Not a typo, apparently it only brought in $25 grand, and was pulled from cinemas after three weeks.
So I wasn't exactly hyped about watching it but she likes all sorts of kitschy crap, so I watched it with her...and was genuinely surprised it did so badly. Its NOT a great film by any stretch, but in my own opinion, not nearly as bad as certain other films that got wider releases. I mean, I watched it all. It was mildly entertaining. Im not the hugest Cage fan, but he can go alright. Kidman doesn't seem to be trying that hard but.
TL, DR - Watched a crappy movie, wasn't quite as crappy as I expected. Wondered why people hated it so much
(cough.)

Because she was a serial killer that was killing the best athletes in every sport. She was originally going to kill The Whammer, but when Roy was able to strike him out, proving he was better, she switched her attention to Roy. I believe that you see one of the characters reading a newspaper that has an article about another athlete that she murdered.

Finally got around to watching SUPER 8. It turned out A LOT better than I thought. I went in assuming something along the lines of CLOVERFIELD (which sucked), but I was pleasantly surprised. The film wasn't short on sci-fi cliches (monster/alien escapes a train/ship/UFO/etc. wreck, a bunch of kids stumble upon it and investigate, military rolls into town, etc.) but the film had heart, and I quite enjoyed it.

VH1 is showing, "The Temptations",(based on the 60's singing group). It's actually on a lot but it seems I always catch it in the middle. It's on now and I am enjoying not only the music but the flashback to that era with many familiar group names. Can't help but tap my feet.

Watched "The King's Speech" last night. Really well done. All of the actors did a splendid job. It was well-written and well-acted and even had a few laughs. What more could you want?

Watched the film/documentary SENNA last night. All about the brilliant Brazilian Formula 1 racing driver Ayrton Senna. Very good and touching show, well worth a watch!

I agree Oli. Talk about in over her head. It was much better than I had anticipated. I did miss the first half hour however, and will try to catch it later today.
They didn't show a whole lot of McCain did they? The entire cast was great. Moore did a really good job IMHO, and I agree with you on Harrelson. I'm thinking a couple emmys next year, but we'll see.

I just saw Chris Wallace inteerview McCain who, not unexpectedly, decried the movie. He stated that although he does swear, he didn't do it as much as the movie portrayed him doing it. When Wallace informed him about Steve Schmidt's (portrayed by Woody) comment that the movie was accurate, McCain replied that that was unfortunate.

I saw Nicole (forgot last name) on yesterday before I saw the film. Amazing that after all she tried to do in the campaign, she said she simply couldn't vote and ended up NOT voting in the election. I can't say much surprised me with how they portrayed Palin, can you? She bit off way way more than she could chew.

Btw, I missed the first half hour last night but am watching now on HBO.

Sundance Channel is playing "Standing in the Shadows of Motown," about Motown's studio musicians The Funk Brothers. It's about half over, but will replay on Friday.

I didn't know what to except from 50/50 (2011), with Seth Rogen + a cancer theme and all, but this was actually pretty good. A full range of emotions going on in this one, and Rogen was well restrained. Third Rock's Joseph Gordon-Levitt* was really good, as usual.
*Just realized he has a high-billing in this year's The Dark Knight Rises, and plays Robert Todd Lincoln in Lincoln, among other things. Good for him! I always thought he was very good in the more obscure films I've seen him in.
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol

Yeah JGL is one of those talented people who's been steadily accumulated a very solid respectable resume, commercial and artistic. I would be absolutely surprised if he doesn't break out as a major movie star within the next 5 years. He almost feels like Johnny Depp before his Pirates stuff.
He's also got an upcoming time travel action/thriller in LOOPER with Bruce Willis that looks interesting. Also just the other day, he and Warner Bros. announced plans to remake LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS with himself playing the nerd protagonist part.
And unlike most announced remakes, I'm intrigued.
EDIT - LOOPER trailer

Can you watch a Kurt Russell movie like ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK without his Disney kidstar past getting in the way like The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes? C'mon grandpa.
