That's a running joke between my cousins and me. Whenever we're driving as opposed to flying (usually when it's too spontaneous to get plane tickets), after we pass Zzyzx Rd, for the rest of the trip, that word shows up in every sentence, somehow. One of my cousins turned it into a Yiddish thing, like, "Oy, the air pressure's too low... I'm zzyzxing." So finally, about two months ago, my cousin got a dog, and guess what he named it?! Of course, Zzyzx. None of us even knows the proper pronounciation of it, and he goes and makes it his dog's name, so he's gonna have to say it every day!! So now we have even more reason to bring up the word in conversation. What's worse, we say it differently every time we use it... the poor dog.

Two randomnesses from my very recent trip to the supermarket: #1. I just got these AWESOME green olives with almonds in the middle instead of pimento. I eat them like they're M&M's, they're so good. Well all olives are good, but these ones in particular are amazing. You can find them in the jarred olive/cocktail onion section of your supermarket. #2. Side by side, I saw "Us Weekly" magazine and another weekly one, can't remember which. Both had Brad and Jen on the cover. One said, "Brad Wants Jen Back!! But how does she feel?" And the other one said, "Jen Tries to Win Brad Back." Yeah, one of these is wrong. And I have a feeling it's both of them who are wrong. Goes to show how much B.S. is in these magazines. (Of course, I say this, but I bought "Us Weekly," trash from cover to cover. Gotta love it!)

A young preacher was asked by a funeral director to hold a graveside service for a man who died with no family or friends. The funeral was held way back in the country and the young preacher got lost on the way. When he arrived an hour late, he saw a backhoe and crew, but the hearse was nowhere in sight. The workmen were eating lunch.
The diligent pastor went to the open grave to find the vault lid in place, but still he poured out his heart and preached an impassioned and lengthy service. Returning to his car, the young preacher felt that he had done his duty and he would leave with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication, in spite of his tardiness.
As he got into his car, he overheard one of the workers talking to another worker: "I've been putting in septic tanks for 20 years, and I ain't never seen anything like that before. Sort of gives new meaning to the term 'Holy Shit.'"

THE CARDIOLOGIST'S FUNERAL:
A cardiologist died and was given an elaborate funeral. A huge heart covered in flowers stood behind the casket during the service. Following the eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket rolled inside. The heart then closed, sealing the doctor in the beautiful heart forever. At that point, one of the mourners burst into laughter. When all eyes stared at him, he said, "I'm sorry, I was just thinking of my own funeral... I'm a gynecologist." That's when the proctologist fainted.

I had a job interview today. I go to the place, sit down, tell em my name, and they say my interview has been moved to tomorrow, on account of the woman not feeling like doing interviews today. My interview was cancelled because she didn't feel like interviewing. Well, I threw professionalism out the window and told em "Look, I got dressed up all nice, went out of my way to look more presentable than necessary, and I get here, and you say come back tomorrow? I don't appreciate being dicked around with. You shoulda had somebody call me." They ask me to just calm down, and come back tomorrow. I'm sure it didn't help my chances of getting hired, but they shoulda just lied to me and said "She's out sick," or something. Pinche cabrones!

I sincerely hope that you don't even bother going back tomorrow. That is VERY unprofessional

xXx_DoN_CoRLeOnE_xXx, I know this isn't near as bad an experience as what you had, but your story reminded me of my history teacher. We had a test in her class this past Friday, like we usually do, but this one seemed to be longer...plus, we had a sub who decided she wanted to have an entire conversation with any students willing to talk during the test, ( ) so that was a very stressful thing for me. My friend and I have a special project/assignment in there, as well, so we had to take another test yesterday, and still complete the work the rest of the class was given. Our teacher just gave us back Friday's multiple choice grades, hasn't graded short answer questions, and has yet to look at my friend's and my second test. Like I said, yours is a lot worse, and I'd be pretty pissed off if I had to deal with that, but it just reminded me of how some people want everything to be just so from you, on strict conditions, and then they're lenient on their own schedules and let it fit to their needs. "Oh, yes, do all this for me, and I'll get back to you...whenever I feel like it."
